The backup copies of my DVD movies will not play fully on any DVD-Rom. SOB! This includes the DVD-Rom in my computer and any other DVD player. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now we have to make a crappy choice! Specific brand and model? Gimme a break!. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The copied movie will play perfectly and in full on the DVD burner in my computer. But when played on the DVD-Rom or any DVD player, it starts hiccuping and then quits when it reaches about half way. I mean physically half way the DVD. If the recording is around 2.5GB, it plays great up to that point. Thinking my *single layer* burner was the problem or the power supply too weak, I got a brand new *external* dual layer LG burner, with the newfangled version of NERO and other fancy stuff. I get no error messages. At the end it says: 'Congratulations! Your copy was successful!' Playback? Carrumba! No change. Same ol' stuff. It will play perfectly on either burner, and that's it! :( On any other player, half way through my movie hiccups and quits. I did not give up though. I returned that burner and got another external LG burner, only to get the same results. I'm using some nondescript generic DVD+R 4X-8X stuff, and tried the HP DVD+R 16X discs. I'm told +R has better ''error correction''. The DVD-R discs appeared to be more problematic. Sometimes they would not even start. I've also even been advised to lower the burning speed. Yeah, right! 'Clear your cache and delete your cookies.' LOL!!! The choice is ''Automatic'', 8X or 4X The results are the same on any choice. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. [email protected] Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas!

Try to play dvd on other computer or laptop if dvd is playing their fine then it is problem with your dvd rom lance. also try to play other movie dvd on same dvd rom If other dvd play fine then their is problem with movie dvd.
It sounds to me like the DVD ROM in your computer has the problem playing it's DVDs, so what happens when you play it in another Computer with it's DVD ROM?
When you say play DVDs you mean watch DVD movies? Assuming the drive is not broken you need to use the DVD app. You could use VLC Player which you can download. It's an orange traffic cone icon.
Did you get the disk that was in the box? it should have Power DVD software in the box. (Mine did)
are you using a windows operating system? The software included runs on windows only.
simple some actaully most portable dvd players just arent made to play copys or duplicates becaues they do not have the software for that kind of disc. so they instead can only play origanals dont worry my portable dvd player does this too
Do you have a model # on that JWin - I wasn't aware that they made portable DVD players.
Generally speaking, though, you would have take the movie file from the Ipod and copy it to your computer if it was not already on there. Then from the computer (with a DVD-ROM drive), you would burn the file to DVD and play it on the DVD player.
You can't play video from the Ipod directly to the portable dvd player, because the iPod does not have a video out - it only has an audio out - sorry.
The movie you had downloaded is in AVI or divx format ....for that you need to have a divx enabled DVD Player....... If your dvd player does't support DivX format .... it won't play it.. Try running that movie in DivX enable DVD Player Cheers - Parveen
