You didn't specify a make or model laptop. Some have cameras built in, some don't. You will need to research the laptop that you are considering to tell if the camera is standard, optional, or not available. And yes, peripheral (external/add-on) cameras are available.

I brought a Canon IXY to Abu Dhabi. I bought it in Japan so can't read the settings. I can't remember how to upload pictures to my laptop from it. I thought something came out of the side that was...

The camera does have a USB port, but the connection at the camera end is a miniature socket. Sounds like you didn't bring the cable with the mini-plug at one end and the full-size USB plug at the other. You may be able to get the right cable where you are, but there are several different sizes of the mini-plug end.

The other, and easier, way to get the pictures is to just take the memory card out of the camera and put it in a card reader attached to the computer, especially now that these readers are built into computers and printers. The card then appears in "My Computer" as a removable drive and you can just drag and drop the pictures onto your laptop. You can't get the pics from the camera's internal memory that way though.

If your laptop doesn't have a card reader, you can pick up an SD card reader in what we in the UK would call a "pound shop", or in Japan a 100 yen shop.

Can I connect a miniature cctv camera direct to a dvd player to view live pictures and use it when reversing my camper van.

Yes you can.
You need dvd player with video in signal. This is a bit tricky to find.
You need miniature camera with video out plug.
You may need to find proper plugs for connection but a normal electronics store should have adapters if needed.

Hi, how do i download a photograph from my camera to my p.c. ?

You should have been supplied with a lead (usually miniature USB) which when connected from the camera through to any modern PC will be recognised immediately and you should see a window with the pics in it. Drag and drop the picture files to a folder on your desktop/laptop. If you haven't a lead you will have to take the card out (behind a sliding door often underneath the camera) and plug it into a card reader which you then plug into the PC. A camera shop will sell you a reader and show you the ropes.

How do i take pictures out of the internal memory of my camera to put them into my computer ?

Hello my friend,
Here two ways to transfer pictures from your internal memory into your computer:
1- If you have also an external memory in your camera, you can move the pictures from the internal memory into the external memory from the camera menu. then you take out the external memory and you insert it to your laptop if it has a memory slot, otherwise you will need to buy an all-in-one memory cards reader, it's very cheap and it's the easy way.
2- if you don't have an external memory and you have the USB cable, you can connect the camera directly to your computer. but you will need to have also the CD ans install the camera software in your computer and then you can browse your internal memory directly from the computer and then download them.

Hi, my laptop 6735s cant connect to internate and do other things i have to use safe mode. please help me.

Hello Mate,
first thing to think about it is when this start to happen, what did you change recently? did you install any software recently ? did you delete any files ? ...
Since you can access by using Safe mode, this is really great. so once you boot up your laptop in safe more, you can unistall any software that you installed recently and also use the windows restoration mode and restore your windows to a previous restore point when you are sure that it was working fine.
Let me know if it's still not working after my suggestions.

How do I turn on my internal Webcam?

there may be chances of ur internal web cm may get problem but before before that u can also try this. This may solve ur problems

go to
Start - Control Panel - Classic view - Administrative tools - Computer Management - Device Manager
and look to see if it shows up on the right, if you see "unknown devices" regarding ur webcam and it's not showing, guess what...it doesn't recogize it.
So, simply go download the driver for it (find it on google or on motherboard site), then go to device manager, and uninstall the device, or simply restart the computer, and it should auto attempt to install it. :) install the drivers properly and u will find it working.

if not solved then problem with ur camera if u want to download drivers than pls follow the foolowing steps

1. you can get your drivers .
just go to ur webcam manufacturing site, click on download section click on drivers, enter its model number and download the camera drivers .
2. If you don't know the webcam drivers cd then connect to internet, uninstall all the old webcam drivers if any. then when pop up window says that new hard driver is found then click it and it will automatically install drivers from net

3. If you want to know about your webcam drivers, then go to desktop
a. right click on my_computer,

b.then select properties, in properties tab click on the HARDWARE tab,

c.then click on the device manager tab, then select and expand the drivers like sound or video which you want to know.

d. right click on the selected sound or display drivers and select its properties.

e. select driver tab and the driver name and version will be before you

Internal memory

The easiest thing I can think of would be to download all the images from the camera's internal memory and then try again. You might also need to delete or transfer any videos you have taken with the camera.

Let me know if this helps. If not, please don't rate yet. We'll try a different route.

I need to have copmuter card that is to down laod from JVC DVC GR- D750AS. and what is the name of the card.

If this is a MiniDV camcorder (record to miniature digital tape) then you will need a firewire card.

Use these links as references:
For a desktop
For a laptop w/ PCMCIA
For a laptop w/ ExpressCard

You will also need a firewire cable to connect your camera to the card. If you dont have one search for a firewire 4pin to 6pin cable... such as....

You can use software such as windows movie maker on XP or Vista to import your video...

Good luck!

Cleaning Internal Connections

Actually I got it done this evening when I got home. I carefully started pulling screws that appeared to hold the left case side on, and I got lucky and got all the correct ones on the first try. After removing and reseating all of the ribbon cables the camera works perfectly again!
