Can you tell me where to purchase a new lens? My daughter dropped my camera, Kodak easy share M1063, and it does not open anymore. Probably a gear is off inside the housing, which I could not open without smaller screwdrivers. I figure it would be easier to replace the whole lens. I have already taken it apart and know that I can replace the lens if I can find one. I had an estimate for an online repairman to fix it for $85 + shipping. For that price I might as well purchase a new camera. Only reply if you can tell me where to purchase the parts I need. Thank for your help.

My Kodak easy share M1063 digital camera wont stay on

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

My kodak easy share M1063 turns on then shuts right off how do i

I had the same exact problem. When the camera turns on and then lens extends, hold the lens out while the camera shuts off. Then sort of move it around a bit. I did this and when I turned it on, it was fixed. I guess something was jammed in the lens.

Kodak M1063 camera

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.
thank u rate me!!!

Blown sand in camera, blew out as much as i could.

You got to really clean it good. Probably the sand is in the lens extension preventing the lens to oppen. That is the problem.

Kodak Easy Share C330 lens error 14 and lens error 22

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Kodak Easy Share C330 lens error 14 and lens error 22

Hello,

I bought two of these on clearance and gave one to my in-laws. She suspected that one of her kids may have dropped the camera or pushed in the lens. I don't remember which lens error number had shown up, but I dis-assembled the camera to find out what the deal was. If I remember correctly, there is a way to manually turn the gears to put he lens back out. I left the lens out and turned it on and it worked perfectly. Fair warning though. It is VERY IMPORTANT not to touch the contacts for the flash EVEN WITH THE BATTERIES OUT!!! God did it hurt like hell... unfortunately it is fairly easy to do and I must have accidentally done it about 4-5 times while messing with it..
