Hi .. i am trying to install the scanning solution via my wireless link. I can priint to the printer.. but when i try and install the scanner - i get a error stating thhat the scanner is not connected. Can i scan via wireless or only via bluetooth??
I found that corrupted COM dll's was screwing up my scanner communication via wireless.
I installed Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008.
I then uninstalled all Canon software & drivers, then deleted all Canon folders from the Programs folder on the C: drive.
Next I ran a search in regedit for all Canon entries and deleted them too.
Finally I ran the registry cleaner in Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008 which identified a number of orphaned COM dll's, these were deleted.
After restarting I then shutdown my Zonealarm firewall & virus scanner.
Next I re-installed the Canon software in this order
1. MP Navigator
2. Drivers (printer & scanner)
3. IJ Network utility & Network scanner utility.
I then reconfigured the wireless setting.
After restarting I then had to give all Canon utilities and programs permission in Zonealarm control
Try turning off the windows firewall.
If that works, then add the Canon scanner app to the list of applications that are allowed through the firewall, then turn the firewall back on again.

Yes, I have the same problem running an MP600R with Vista Home Premium.
The strange thing is that the scanning function worked wirelessly for about 2 weeks then it went 'haywire'!
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the associated software and drivers as well as downloading the latest versions from Canon.
I have even cleared the Windows registry of all Canon entries before reinstalling.
But it still won't work! Not even via the Ethernet cable.
The only way I can use the scanner is via the USB cable.
I have e-mailed Canon Australia support but haven't yet received any response, nearly a week later
I have the same problem. The solution explained doesn't work for me
SCANNING MULTIPLE PAGES TO EMAIL IS NOT WORKING
Tje on--screen menu on the Pixma has gone blank and I get a message from the word processing program to which I am trying to add the scanned item that it cannot contact the scanner. I also received a message that the scanner was busy. It wasn't.
