Hi,

Red screen usually means a burnt out CCFL. The CCFL is an integral part of your LCD screen and often requires replacement of your entire LCD which may actually cost more than the laptop itself.
The CCFL may be repairable (not replaced) by someone but count on a very high price ,Second option is connect an external monitor to the Notbook and switch screens (FN+F8 most likely) if the red part is not there on the external screen, then its the LCD thats bad.. If the external monitor also has the red part, thats means there was a problem with video card.

Thanks

Red tint to screen

If the model is a 50v500 the real question should be does the set have a red oval area in the middle of the screen (entire screen not red)---if the entire screen is red you have a chance---it has a red oval area and it needs a new optical light engine----you will have options also but limited if that is the case.

Display has red tint across entire screen. Could it be the bulb? If so, is that still available? Approximate cost?

two possible solutions----either a problem on the small circuit board that is connected to the RED picture tube OR the red screen control is turned up too high. These sets have a small square block with RED,Green, Blue screen controls(same place also has red, green, blue Focus controls) if you remove the speaker grill you will find an inspection plate made of masionite---the focus/screen block is visable behind it----get a flashlight and look carefully at the block---one row of 3 plastic shafts is Focus(don't touch those) the other 3 are Screens(you should see R, G, B marked) go to a blank video input(one with nothing attached) and turn the RED SCREEN CONTROL JUST SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT UNTIL the red goes away.

The tv is showing red lines on the screen.

These are retrace lines. The screen on the red tube is turned up too high. Inside the set there are 6 knobs. 3 for focus & 3 for screen. Turn down the red screen until lines are gone. These knobs are usually found by pulling of the front panel.

All screen is red

IF THE SCREEN IS ALL RED WITH VIDEO VISIBLE AND RETRACE LINES. ADJUST SCREEN CONTROL IN THE FRONT FOR THE RED TUBE ONLY. TURN CONTROL COUNTER CLOCKWISE. IF THAT DOESNT DO IT THE TUBE CAN BE REJUVINATED.

My screen have some red lines

I will assume from you description that this is a rear projection crt(picture tube) tv. if this is true I have good news/bad news.
faint red horizontal bowed lines in the picture indicate the screen(G2) voltage for the red tube is too high.Slight lowering of the G2 adjustment will eliminate these lines. I stress SLIGHT because too much adjustment will mess up the gray scale .
The bad news the red crt made be bad. if the adjustment works but in the future the problem reappears then suspect the red crt.red crt replacement is probably not economical to repair.
