Acer desktop E500 dvd drive to remove

Hi there!!!! ive got an acer desktop E500 and the problem is that i need to remove the dvd drive but i have tried to take from the back but it only goes back about 3 cm and then it stops , i have taken the pins that secures the drive to not slide back but after 3 cm sliding to the back it stops, i wonder if there is any other pin the other side or not !!?? hope that you can help me with that !! tks again heres my email!!!     as you see,only about 3 cm of the drive come off the pin and the green clip i have taken off but i wonder if the other side is other pin that doesnt let the drive slide back, but the problem is that i cant take the other part because is sealed!! tks for your time hope to hear from you soon!!!

    I have the same problem trying to removed the DVD drive from my Acer M5630. How did you remove the front cover to slide it out the front?

    exactly how do i take of the front cover, ive tried many things, but there doesnt seem to be any screws that connect the front, i have the same computer (acer aspire e500)

Back? dvd.cd drives usually slide out the front.i think ur try to push a door that u have to pull. rating please. get back if not the solution

    if the drive had to be taking out the front ,that would make my advice correct.Which i knew it comes out the front you don't even hsave to answer that. So how come you would only rate my solution like you did?Maybe you made a mistake.I didn't feel you needed more in depht instructions cause you made that far,but i always go back to check if i helped the needed.BBut to see that ranking ,its kind of disturbing.i 'm new at this forum,but i like the concect so i participated.Wasn

I have seen some computer towers where the drive will slid out through the front. You have to take the plastic covering off the front of the computer first.

Try connecting to another PC as you mentioned and format the drive as NTFS.Do a full format, not a quick format, and the drive should be in prime condition to be read by the OS installers.

check that ur hard disk shown in bios setting and select ur 1st boot able drive cd/dvd rom

Is the drive you are using a DVD writer or only a DVD reader? The drive that writes to RW disks is labeled DVD/RW or DVD Recordable.
These are the only drive types that will read and write a DVD/RW disc.

Why my acer e500 cannot install 64 bit window 7 it say no driver when need to choose hard disk to install
you need to install Uli sata drivers in order for your motherboard to recognize the harddrive and cd drive.

download the drivers here: http://www.soft32.com/download_184082.html

and put them on a cd or memory card, when the system prompts you that you have no harddrive, you can load the drivers from a memory card or cd however if you use a cd you will face other issues. then you will be able to install windows 7 ;)

I did it on my acer e500 and it runs good.
I didn't install the 64 bits version though but the 32 bits.

for all the people saying that his pc is too old: if the pc can run under vista, it runs better under windows 7

Sometimes the DVD drive will not open. It is fairly annoying.
Sir,
Go to My Computer and right clicked on the DVD Rom drive and clicked eject. If any error appears let me know. Also try to insert a straightened paper clip into the designated hole on the CD/DVD drive casing to manually force an eject. If it is not worked replace the cables(master slave).

My acer aspire e500 has no hard disk aactivity
Try to discinnect CD/DVD driver also when you power on main cor dont instantly power on case, wait 5 minutes and then try. Such kid of failureas are causer by power adaptor system. Also try bios reset put off battery and wait 5 minutes to reset CMOS also power cord must be unpluged. Unplug and plug power sources to mainboard. then turn on.
