Dropped camera there is a problem with my pink polariod.. the screen is completely black my daughter dropped it 2 times but it still worked perfectly fine... now you cant see anyone without the screen being black.. you can only see somebody through it when you squeez it very tightly on the sides.. I think there is something loose after she dropped it. what should I do?

I would make sure to keep track off all the parts when disassembling. If you have nothing to lose I say go for it. At least to see what's going on inside. Good luck!

i don't have a solution for you, but i am definately bookmarking this page in the hopes that someone will post one...i dropped mine tonight and it is doing this exact same thing!!!

This sounds like one of two problems -
Either an LCD screen problem or a bad CCD sensor.
A LCD screen problem would indicate one of two of the following - it was cracked, or the cable inside is either damaged or moved out of the plug and need to be reseated.

A bad CCD sensor would show a pink screen on cameras, but would also show menus on the screen as well, do you see those? The CCD basically captures the image the lens is seeing and translates it to an image the camera can save. Generally the CCD can not be replaced separately from the lens and will require an entire lens assembly for repair.

As has been explained many times, dropping a camera damages it. Damaged cameras do not work. They are what is technically known as 'broken'. You will have to get it repaired.

I'm so sorry to hear that your Pink Samsung D1070 Digital Camera was dropped and appears to be cracked and now has a screen that is white with a black mark!
This doesn't sound good!
Have you tried taking the battery out (make sure you leave it out for a least 1 minute) then replacing it (sometimes overnight or 24 hours will be required)?
Sometimes this works!
You may be covered under the warranty, unfortunately some companies might not honor the warranty if you dropped it.
I'm disappointed in Samsung for even making a camera that would break when dropped if this is true!

OK, as crazy as it sounds, give the came a few good whacks on the side. It seems like there's internal problems, but it got my camera working. Do I get my money now?

well I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ALL I GOT WAS A BLACK SCREEN & 3 BEEPS,SO GOT A LETTER OPENER AND STUCK IT IN THE SPACE BETWEEN THE ZOOM LENS A FEW TIME VERY CAREFUL PUSHING DOWN THE POWER BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME AFTER A FEW TIMES THE LENS BECAME UNSTUCK..JUST JIGGLE IT A ROUND A LITTLE BACK AND FORTH WITH A LITTLE FORCE.I HOPE YOUR CAMERA WILL START TO WORK AGAIN LIKE MINE DID.

I have the same issue, Although My camera is a samsung N46, It was working perfectly the night before, then my friend switched it on and it came up with a black backround and pink + purple vertical lines going through it.

cannon will repair it free of charge,its a problem with ixus 400.
