I have panasonic sdr-s7 but it has recently develped an issue that i cant resolve. When i zoom the oject in the shopt goes out of focus, rather than zooming in on a particular part of the shot. It used to remain in focus whilst zooming in or out on an objext. I think i may have inadvertently changed a setting, but cant find it to put it back. This is spoiling my enjoyment of an otherwise great little camera, so i would be real grateful if anyone knows how i can get it back to focusing on zoom

Make sure that you have turned on autofocus. Search for settings for autofocus/manual focus.

No focus when zooming in

from the Manuel
? When the zoom speed is high, the subject may not be focused easily.
Also you Focus could be not set on auto which thinks the subject is either closer or father away from the camera.
Here is the Manuel for reference.

While recording the Camcorder goes in and out of focus. If I keep the camcorder running and either zoom or pan out the subject refocuses, but if i hold at that level of focus the subject becomes blurry...

It sounds like you are either too close to the subject or you need to flip the focus switch to automatic.
The Auto/Manual focus button is located on the left side of the camcorder under the LCD monitor flap.
Other than that, does this happen only in low light? The camera will have trouble focusing in low light usually.

Without a panasonic SDR-S7 charger...

Before connecting the charger keep these in mind: volts current in amperes, polarity. If anything goes out of range your camera may burn out. Don't try a 'min' or 'max' just use the exact charger ratings. In electronic stores there are these variable adapters available on which the output can be varied. Get one of those, they are cheap and you can use them to charge multiple items.

SDR S7 panasonic camcorder... lost installation disc

The best solution is to get a replacement CD from Panasonic at
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-S7A
They may replace the CD at a reasonable cost (or free plus S&H). Otherwise they can suggest other editing software that can upload your recordings to the PC.
