The screen has a pinkish tinge to it when the notebook is initial switch on then it goes black after a couple of minutes - is the LCD repairable or is it 'stuffed' - any assistance will be much appreciated - Cheers MZW
A pinkish tint is indication that the backlight tube inside the screen is not fully lit. But then it goes black - meaning the tube shut down? That part don't make much sense - it's certainly possible, though.
Replacing tubes is pretty surgical so I wouldn't recommend it. Replacing the screen should be pretty darn easy. A good, used screen should be pretty cheap on eBay, so that's where I'd start.
