Sorry I missed the error code oL

oL Machine Paused-Load Wedging….I think that may mean something like the tumblers are jammed up but that’s a guess. I have never seen that error code before. If no one on the forum can help I will give it a try. I need to do some digging in. If I hit a dead end for this error code I will ask on another forum if any Maytag repair folks have knowledge of this error code and it’s cause. We could do some basic troubleshooting if you want to try. If you recycle power on the machine will the machine run a normal cycle?

If you want to dig in and troubleshoot the issue I will try to help. See my last post of how to get into Service Mode. I would suggest reading the Diag codes and see what the machine has logged with past error codes.

Here are links for the Service Manual and parts look up. FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

Waiting to hear back from you….Rich

I just found this for Diag code 40 in the Service Manual....Washer not operating due to tumble not functioning Load bound up.

LED – Will display “oL The washer is unable to complete its cycle. The paddles cannot move. To continue,

separate and redistribute the load, then press “start/pause”.

Is this issue a onetime event or dose it happen all the time?

Can you restart the wash cycle and see if it completes. If not I would release the washer top from the base and observe tumbler action.

See Page 33 of the Service Manual this will show you how to release the washer top from the base.

Wait until the washer fills with water before you release the washer top or you will spray water around. Once the washer starts to agitate the wash load release the top and observe tumbler action. If the tumblers are not rotating this can be a transmission issue. Is this issue a onetime event or dose it happen all the time?

SOURCE: kenmore washer OASIS errror code OL

OL error means the Motor Controller has sensed an Overload.

The oL code means the motor control board is struggling to power the motor up. If it recurs after removing some clothes - usually this means a new motor control.... or worse - a new bearing.

If it were a problem with the tub floating up, the unit would spin instead of nutate.

Bearing failure in this machine is very common.

I suspect the drive shaft and bearing are the problem. The bearing and shaft are part of the outer tub.

The new outer tub with bearing W10128830 cost approximately $197 dollars.

If you can get access to the shaft it may be an Emory cloth will help smooth things down so that you no longer get the OL code.

This is an ambitious do-it-yourself project... as most appliance repairmen don't understand how this machine operates.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6700TW1 skips wash cycle and stops after 14 minutes to oL

oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.

If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.

Washer stops and shows oL over load

The "oL" error code in the Cabrio and Bravo washers means the motor is sensing an overload ("oL") condition. While this could indicate a problem with the motor, it usually doesn't. Most of the time, you'll see this error code when one of two things is going on:

1) There's a piece of clothing stuck between the inner basket and outer tub.

2) The tub is not floating freely, usually because it's seized to the drive shaft by rust and crudus; FYI: this condition is almost always caused by using non-HE detergent in this washer. Also, be aware that, if this is the case, it can be very difficult to remove the basket from a badly corroded drive shaft, could even be a two-man job.

Here is a video to help you get into the machine.

OL error code

Hi jbrundage1. I believe you have a UL error code on the washer. It means that the sensors in the washer are sensing the unit is unbalanced. When the washer is empty, set it to a spin or rinse and spin setting. Run the washer through the cycle empty, as it will help to remove any excess water in the tub. Also, make sure the washer is level, as it is balanced on springs, and that could be throwing the sensors off. I hope these suggestions prove helpful. Sincerely, Melanie, Maytag Social Media Representative.

Error on control panel "oL"

Hi

Error OL means that the washer has sensed an overload (OL) condition. It can also be a false error code appearing due to faulty lid switch. Sometimes this error code appears when lid is not closed/opened properly. You can check the lid switch for any disconnections, if the connection to lid switch is fine then use a multimeter to check the continuity of the lid switch. If the lid switch is fine then there is a piece of clothing stuck between inner basket and the outer tub. Disconnect the washer from the power outlet and then try moving the drum with your hand and check if it turns freely or is offering any resistance. If it is not moving freely then it is due to rusted drive shaft or motor. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more assistance.
