We have a Nuvo Essentia Six-Source, Six-Zone system. It plays the iPod fine, but the control pad says 'No iPod Detected'. This means I have to control the iPod from the unit itself, rather than being able to select tracks/playlists/etc. from the control panels.

First, try unplugging all of the sound system and plugging the amplifier into an outlet on a circuit that was not changed by the electrical work. Also, plug an outlet tester into the outlet you were using for the amplifier to make sure it is correctly wired. If one outlet in a system has hot and neutral reversed and others don't, this could cause problems with some designs.

If you are lucky, dirty power from sparking inside the circuit breaker crashed the control circuitry in the amp, and it just needs a hard reset (power disconnect/reconnect) to be made functional again. In the worst case, something got fried and you'll have to use instruments to track it down.

What is the solution?
I'm having the same issue.
Nuvo has been installed about 3 months.

check the wires make sure thay are not loose or partial connection

You may have a pair of the cat-5 wires in the incorrect order which is causing a combus fault. Check all your cat-5 connections, ensure they are T568a (GS/G/OS/B/BS/O/BrS/Br).

Let me know if that checks out and we will continue trouble shooting.

That indicated there is a short or incorrect wiring on the combus of the keypads.

Remove the keypads from the walls and unplug them one at a time.

Then unplug one at a time from the all-port until it works.

The last one you unplug will be the offender, inspect the cat-5 crimp for a pair or wires that are in the incorrect order.

Unfortunately it is only available to those who are certified installers/dealers. Nuvo tries to protect those that sell it and does not offer anyway to program it on your own (Unlike Russound that can be done through a keypad by anyone).

I wish I had a better answer but you will have to find a dealer/installer to get you a copy of the software.

I asked Nuvo about this and they said that the RS232 port was never setup for control, it is only to be used for programming when they are initially setup by Nuvo.

I have codes for the Essentia and Grand Concerto that I have written but non for the simplease as Nuvo said it cannot be controlled.

With the keypads go to menu, then setup, then zone settings, then display settings then time display. Will have to go to each zone to do this. The installer could have asked for your preference. Some people prefer it, some don't.

I have the same problem. All keypads blinking in All Off. I changed the fuses on the Nuvo. No luck. Does anyone have a solution to this?
