Cannot have 2 phones in use at the same time 25952

If someone calls and then I say pick up to another person they can't do that. I says ready, talk, then unavailable. Do you know how to fix this? Is it fixable or do I need to take it back?
Help!
Thanks
Ann

These phones were made for "privacy" so no one can pick up another phone and listen to your conversation - must have been created by a very paranoid person. I will be returning mine.

The phone rings, states the number calling but you can't talk to the caller. When you answer the phone, the person on the other end can hear you, but you can't hear anything. You can't get a dial tone when...

The switch that the handpiece activates is not working. Could be optical, magnetic or physical. It may need cleaning, adjusting or a wire connection repaired. Also check the curly cord and its connections between the handpiece and telephone.

The Intercomm Turns on by itself

There is nothing wrong with your phone. The person or persons calling you are doing a voice call.

Voice call basically pages the phone, to talk to you.

If you want to diasble this, you would need to take that button off the phones. There are other ways, but they involve more programming.

Does not ring

is the ringer on the base or phone on? check that first.if that's ok, then plug a regular corded phone into the phone jack and see if there is dial tone.if there isn't any, try other jacks in the house. if still not working, call your phone company.

If you mean you want to have someone on each of your extensions listening to the same conversation, it can not happen. The reason for this is the first phone to pick up makes a connection with the base. The other phone will not be able to make that same connection as long as the first one is still on.

Audio Feedthrough

wow, no one has posted a response for this poor sap. I don't know what to do, but someone should at least post some insight!
Personally, I think it may be a power issue, as possibly the current going to the phone is not stable, so it is interfering with the machine's abilities to listen for someone else picking up on the other end.

GE 25952 5.8 GHz

I just called GE/Thomson tech support (1-800-720-2094). GE cordless phones do not allow users to pick up an additional extension so that two people in the house can speak with a caller. He explained that it was for privacy.
I will be taking back my system today. :(
