Dark vertical line(s) on Lcd tv

Dark vertical line appeared on my screen after 4 months. its mostly on the left, but faint on the right too...its just where the edge of "normal" 4x3 area ends when watching normal channels....also where my cable companies program guide pops on...a very hard edge to that graphic as well. could it be "burn"? can it be fixed or degaussed?

HD Pictures no longer cover the screen. Some local channels almost cover that are transmitting 1080i but the locals using 720P do not. Can not stretch them enough using full picture mode either. Standard HD mode looks like it the same format as the anolog when viewing 720P.

Also I have an intermittent problem of the TV locking up and you are stuck on the channel and none of the controls work. When this happens maybe once or twice a week you must unplug the set for a minite or two to return it to normal.

I bought my Samsung in February and last week spotted exactly the problem, but only on DVDs, particularly when the picture turns dark brown. If you notice, the colors to the right of the band on the right is of a darker tone.

Two smudgy vertical lines, one on each side, where the standard picture does not fill in the entire screen, it really shows up when the screen is not to bright. It is a 37 inch Westinghouse that was exchanged after the first Westinghouse 37 inch monitor failed one week before the warranty was up! This one is three years old!

Most likely it's the LCD panel failure. You can replace the panel if you can find a spare part. But the new panel may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. Hope that will help you.

It's likely you have bad connections on the ribbon cables from the T-Con board to the small control board that connect to the screen. The left side of the screen at the top as viewed from the front of the set is usually where the ribbon connectors with the poor connections are located. This is a manufacturers defect. Other areas of the screen may require small foam wedges under the frame so that they lie between the metal frame and the top of the ribbon cable. Many Youtube videos posted that show you how to correct this problem. See this one link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P_i-JIsrYA
This problem doesn't necessarily require replacement of the screen. There is, however, no guarantee that this will completely correct the problem. It did with my set, but only if the set remained in a warm room above 75? degrees. Strangely, my problem after running for some months would no longer display a normal picture with the cooler fall temps. Screen replacement may ultimately be your only solution. There are shops that have the equipment to replace these ribbon cables but at a cost exceeding the price of a newer replacement TV.

I just bought a Sony 46V4100 LCD July 08 and I just noticed "DARK VERTICAL" lines across the complete screen. Some darker than others. I called Sony and they acted like I was the first person to even make this complaint. I hoping LCD wasn't the wrong choice. (?)

Faint Vertical lines on Samsung LCD TV

Your correct, LCD's don't burn. This sounds like a defective main control module. I would take it in as soon as possible to have it looked at.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Dark vertical shadows

No,you can't. This is very common. I bought a new tv and i noticed right away that it had the problem you are mentioning. I took it back for an exchange and the next tv did not have this problem...until a year later. Now,of course it does have this problem, but it is out of warranty.

I think they make televisions very poorly today.
