I have a 27 inch Toshiba TV model CZ27V51. Picture and audio go off and the red power light on front of set starts flashing (but the set is still on because it can be turned off with the remote and a flash of light is seen as it shuts off). I took the back off and found that by propping up the back end of the circuit board (flexing the board) I could solve the problem for varying periods of time. So, I Inspected the board carefully, looking for broken traces, loose pins, cracks in solder, cracks in the circuit board - anything that might be forced into electrical contact by flexing the circuit board. Found nothing. Then, I theorized one of the voltages coming from the power supply could be the problem...so, I inspected that area of the circuit board but still nothing. Does anyone know the fix for this? I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, Flashing light red means a shorted electronic component is need to be replaced. do some test at video section, most of it are diode, transistors, transformers. ty
Hello, I have (had) a Toshiba 32AFX62, 32" flat panel TV. I had the same problem, no picture, no sound, flashing red light. Removed the back and my brother an Electronic Technician noticed a small resistor which made a smoke ring when pluged in. That small resistor is burned out but there is another component which shorted the resistor out. Its best to replace the entire circuit board DELICATELY. Repair service wants $90.00 to walk into the house, $150.00hr labor, and cost of circuit board. Time to buy a new TV. Good Luck.

Thanks, Rey. But I don't have a service manual or schematic (and
can't find one). So, I don't know where to look on the circuit
board for the video section. And, if I did know where to look I
am not sure how to test a diode, transistor or transformer. I do
have a digital mulitimeter, though. Thanks for your help.
Same problem here. Any reasonable solution found?
