Sound but no picture

You need to change the surround sound settings. This is on page 29-30 in the instruction manual that comes with the sysyem. You can download a copy in pdf format here: http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/95/LVT1147-001C.pdf

Basically do this:

1. Play the dvd.
2. Select Audio mode on the remote control
3. Hit the "Surround" button repeatedly until you hear all the sounds you expect to hear.
Go slow inbetween hitting the button to make sure the sound is playing.

It's an anticopy feature. JVC extensively uses sony electronics. And Sony is the anti copy king of retardedness. I've permanently stopped purchasing sony products for this reason. From dvd players, to video game consoles, and their records and movies (columbia). I've been doing this for 10 years and haven't really missed anything :/

insert the dvd disc from other region then the region code error will flash on the tv screen, then press the on screen button on your remote twice, then search search for the clock and set it to 0:00:00 and enter and it will automatically play.

I hooked up a Pioneer DVD player to my TV and when I play a DVD the volume cannot be controlled by the TV. It just plays at one level and on the louder side. When I'm watching regular TV and the DVD player is on and playing a disc I start to hear the DVD soundtrack at the same time as the whatever I'm watching on TV. I should not be able to hear anything until I switch over to Video 1. Any suggestions?

On the remote, pres the Picture-In-Picture button (3rd down on the right hand side) for about 5 seconds, and the TV will return

your AV leads are probably connected wrong,you need send signal from.......to on the yellow lead

ie from dvd player TO telle,using AV inputs on telle,then swith telle to AV 0r 2

I can view channels but cannot view a DVD from the TV/DVD Disney Princess Combo. Only see static on the screen with no sound. I wonder if I need to change the input select to view a movie but cannot find a button on the TV or remote control. I have a 6 button remote which I am sure operates the DVD and another remote with 39 buttons I thought would operate the player as well as the TV. However, so far only the player functions from it. The buttons only have small pictures without words which sometimes leaves some question about purpose. This is a second hand unit. I do not have a manual. It did play movies at first. I think the trouble may have started when I programed cable channels. Any help will be greatly appreciated

None of the buttons are working at all. We can not play the movie unless we use the remote.

actually it works better if you just ground the hand brake wire. by securing a section of exposed wir with on of the main body screws.
