Can you describe the sound it makes? If it's one short beep that's OK. If it's anything else, can you tell us the pattern of long and short beeps.

Is the red light on one of the discs?

No sound on iplayer on tvonics z500hd

Workaround procedure to get this to work 1. Go to BBC1. 2. Go to the Guide and select channel 200 - BBC Red Button. Press OK. 3. Exit the Guide and wait. You should see a notice about the BBC Red Button Service. Wait a few seconds. 4. Press the RED button - the display switches to BBC1 and shows the standard (Text) Red Button Index. 5. Press the BLUE button to close the Index. The display shows the BBC1 video and sound. 6. Press the RED button to get into the Red Button Menu. 7. Wait a few seconds and then select the BBC iPlayer. I gained access to the iPlayer once this way yesterday and twice so far today but when I went straight to the iPlayer from BBC1 I lost the sound. I've just shutdown and then re-started the HD500 and successfully accessed the iPlayer using the above method. Note, that if it doesn't work then just switch your box into standby, wait 15 minutes or until the Hard Disk stops and then you can switch it on again. No mains power-off or reset is required.

Boot time dose not showing hard disk

Hello,

Some laptops will show the hard drive icon light up when the pc start up and then nothing. (not often but I have seen a few) If your system is not booting after a few seconds and no hard disk light flickerring on and off, you ether have a bad hard drive or the hard drive may not be properly seated to the disk connection.

As your pc boot up, go into the BIOS and make sure your system is "seeing" the disk. if it not, you may need to replace the disk. If it does see the disk, reseat the disk making sure it is fully connected the disk connector. Reboot your pc. If it does not boot, replace the disk.

Good Luck

I have a hp a350 cpu.the problem is that the light of led has gone red,as before in working condition it was green. It can't start.the power to hardisk is also not coming.please tell a sollution.

As you say has become red and no power to the hard disk.
First check the power cable for any loose connections and check if it give power to the cpu and the fan placed on processor starts working as you start the power. If fan it starts and with in few seconds stops then your power supply/SMPS is weak or damage. So replace it for proper working of your computer. And if after power on all fines but red led on monitor and no power to hard disk Try to replace the hard disk power cables because they are not working because of it no operating system is detected and led of monitor is red. After replacing hard disk cables hard disk starts working and still no display or red led on monitor check the vga cable for loose connection or replace it.If you are using vga display from graphic card try to get display first from onboard vga slot. After it your problem will disappear and your pc run smooth and fine.

Playstation 3 will not read the game disk but will

Hi there,

Try the steps mentioned below and the PS3 will work with the games disks as well;
1) Restore your PS3 to deafault settings under System Settings
2) Hold down the power button for several seconds until the light goes from red to green to red. Once it turns back to red, let go.
3) Finally, Hold down the power button again untill you hear 2 quick beeps... a few seconds. This will repair any damaged sectors in your HD.

My PS3's hard disk file system is corrupted

There is an alternate way to restore your HDD. Turn off your system and when u see the red light, hold the power button in front until you hear a total of 4 beeps (1 alone, 1 alone, 2 together). It usually works on second try. it should show a screen and say hook up controller with a usb cord. Then it should show i think 6 options. Choose the restore option. it should work.

Hope it works and wish you all the best!
P.S.- I just got the 80010514 error on my ps3 and my ps3 games dont work anymore :(

6 beeps on start up, no video

Without knowing what yo have for a BIOS, it is difficult to diagnose. The below link is a list of beep error codes for different BIOS types. Check your BIOS to see if it is one on the list and see what it means:

Comp wont start up

The hard disk may have died. Check the BIOS and check the hard disk setting, if it appears OK then boot up with a DOS floppy startup boot disk, and select boot up without CD-ROM support, then type fdisk, answer Y to large disk support, select 4 to Display partition information.
If you see all your disk partition the most likely your hard disk is OK.
Most likely you operating system is damaged/corrupted and you will need to reinstall your operating system and drivers for all your devices.
