It sounds like you simply need a new battery. Here is a site that sells replacement batteries for the Amazon Kindle 1:
Amazon Kindle 1 BatteryThe prices are some of the best around and all batteries carry a 1 year replacement warranty. I hope this helps!

Try different chargers, your yellow charging indicator should come on even if the battery is broken. It could be a broken charging port/ logic board issue as well. If you still think it may be the battery and If you've explored all options with software settings and If you're outof warranty, you can try to open the kindle and replace the battery. There is a Kindle Repair Guide that shows you how to take it apat. There are services that can do it for you. Kindle Repair.

The battery is most probably undercharged or dead, before you buy a new one, make sure that it is the battery by testing with another one in a store.

Won't reload on my ipad

Connect to wall outlet Uses the USB power adapter and USB cable included with the device. If it is a third-party accessory, check to see if it is Apple Certified . Then follow these steps:
  1. Connect the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the Lightning to USB connector cable or the 30-pin to USB connector cable .
  2. Connect it to one of three power sources:

Wall outlet

Connect the charging cable to a USB AC adapter and connect the USB AC adapter to the wall outlet.

Computer

Connect the charging cable to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a computer that is not in sleep mode. Do not use the USB ports on the keyboard.

Power supply
Connect the cable to a powered USB hub, docking station, or other Apple-certified accessory.

When the device is charging, you will see a lightning bolt next to the battery icon in the status bar or a large battery icon on the lock screen.

How do I turn it on using battery only

This most likely is a dead battery issue. It will show as if it is full when plugged in but will not hold a charge.

My CyberPad iview's battery is completely dead. How do I recharge it? Blue light is not lit when it's plugged in and there is no lightening bolt appearing.

Is the charger ok?(silly me). Unless the battery is functionally dead, it should work. Sometime plugging into another wall outlet may help.

Kindle wont charge

Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries. Try another port on the computer, if there is one. If you're going through a USB hub, remove it and connect the Kindle directly to the computer. If you have access to an AC-USB charger (one that plugs into a wall outlet instead of a computer), try using that.

How do I charge the iPad battery.

USB hubs typically don't generate the 10 watts necessary to charge an iPad when it's connected to your computer. This basically means you can't use your laptop to recharge your iPad.

Apple recommends finding an AC outlet and using 10-watt power adapter that came with your iPad.

My kindle has frozen

Make sure that the kindle is fully charged. Plug your kindle into the wall charger, a yellow light will light up. When the yellow light turns green, your kindle is fully charged. Then try turning on your device. If the device still does not turn on, hold the power switch for 15 seconds, this will reboot the device.
