For just the data, get an ide to usb converter and connect it to the new computer, and just drag and drop.
You cant move an entire hard drive to a new computer because of driver issues, but you can use windows built in files and settings transfer utility.

If that old hard drive is on another computer then all you need is a cable and LAN between the computer that has the old hard disk to the new computer. or use any other storage device and transfr it manually.
if the old hard disk is stand alone and is not compatible to the new computer, you will need an adapter that would make the hard disk compatible to the new computer. or, an external hard drive case would do the job just make sure the old hard disk is compatible on it.

If you want to run it as master then you may be able to set the drive in master or CS setting "depending on pc array" Run Windows repair to change the chipset setup because they wont be the same. You can run it as a slave drive which will show as a mass storage device by setting the jumper pin to slave and running it off the primary IDE ribbon
