I bought a key replacement online. The Loop for the key chain broke off my old one so I ordered a new shell which included the key which I had cut. The alarm goes off when I try and open the door and it wont start the car. Since the actual key is embedded in the new case I cant take off the old one and replace the guts. I can not afford to replace the whole thing which is 150.00 HELP

Unit has a draw somewhere that needs to be addressed. I have found the auto starts sometimes can cause this. But if the draw is through the negative side it could be tough. You should take it to the dealer and have them perform a draw test on the entire vehicle.

Is this a factory alarm, or after market? If its a factory alarm you can disarm the sytem using the key, insert into the door and turn the key so the door unlocks, this will disable the alarm.
If it's an aftermarket installed by a stereo shop, there should be a valet switch under the dash or somewhere, put the key in the ignition, turn forward and flip the dip switch in the other direction. If not, then you will need to go under the dash, find the alarm box and pull the plug out.

because the alarm system is tied into so many other system on the Jeep you cant just kill it but you could unhook the horn control circuit for the alarm so it at least the horns wont honk every time you open the door, by the way if you get a new key flob this would take care of the problem the system is designed so evey time you unlock the doors with the key flob the alarm shuts off, but all you need to do is locate the Body control module it is mounted to the fuse block at the left end of the dash you need to find termanal # 6 a gray/orange wire and just cut it this will stop the alarm from honking the horn, the lights will still flash but no horn.....good luck
let me know if there is any thing else you need.
