Marantz DV4001 HDMI issue

I have a new Marantz receiver SR6001 and DVD player DV4001. I have crazy sparatic sound issues, flicks on then off then on and off and then eventually it stays on. Here is the lay out. DVD to Receiver via HDMI, Receiver to TV via HDMI. It is like there is a sync issue but that's nuts all the audio components are the same make. These units are supose to auto detect HDMI as that is how i have it set but i have to turn the HDMI off and then back on on the DVD to get the DVD to send via HDMI. I have yanked the HDMI for now and using COAX and Component into the receiver with no issues. Kinda kills my goal to have digital from one end of the system to the other. Any idea's???? thanks.

It sounds like the HDMI port on the back of your Marantz is damaged. if you know for sure that the HDMI port works on another tv still you might just use component connection because the visible difference between component and HDMI is not very recognizable.

Hip shot: No one let's you record digital audio onto analog equipment (yet).

On looking at Page 26 of the manual, that is verified. (See the Notes). Use only the analog audio and it will probably work for you. The A/D switch decides which you will use.

SOURCE: Hello, I have recently purchased a

You don't get the OSD on the screen because either the HDMI cable for the TV isn't plugged in the OUT plug (the one on the right) or the tv isn't set on the correct AV source (it should be n HDMI1 - if you have plugged the cable correctly on the tv).

Marantz DV4001 DVD player suddenly won't power up. Rental DVD stuck in player. Besides the lack of power issue - is there way to open the DVD player manually?

YES, UNPLUG, REMOVE SCREWS @ BACK & SIDES, CHANGE FUSE ON POWER BOARD,OR YOU CAN TRY & RELEASE THE TRAY BY WINDING THE COGS BACKWARDS. CHECK YOUR PLUG FUSE FIRST.

Marantz sr6001 stanby blinking

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be with your output drivers. Please check for short on the outputs fitted for both the channels. Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise which can be a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation. You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board. Maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias or there is a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the amplifier comes out of the protect mode then check for short on the speakers.

When running video thru the amp, the pic flashes on and off

usually that is an issue of cabling and/or the monitor. The Marantz units are pretty darn stable. Check your setup to see if it is upconverting.

If you can, try a new HDMI cable to the TV. You could also try the second HDMI out, to see if there might be a problem with that particular output port. You can also try a different HDMI port on the TV.

Another thing to try is to directly connect your DVD player to the TV. If your cabling is all in walls, etc, you can get an HDMI coupler at a big box store for $15.00 or so. That will tell you if it is any of the cables, the DVD player, or the TV.

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
