Hello, We have a new bravia w series lcd tv. We have connected it to our dvd and foxtel digital box. We can get dvd and foxtel sound but no foxtel picture. I believe that the connections to the foxtel and the dvd are correct but that the probloem lies in the connection to the back of the tv. I would appreciate soem advice please. Michelle

    Dear Larry,

Thanks for your response. The scart cord from the digital box ends in 6 individual plugs.

The foxtel cable goes from the wall to the foxtel box, out of the foxtel box and to the dvd player, and then to the tv. Is this what you mean by the order?

Thansk for your help, I appreciate it,
    Michelle

Thanks again - th HDMI cable seems like the best solution and I will follow it up. The cables ens in RCA jacks and are colour coded - but I was confused that not all, the colours are on the back of the TV.
    Thanks again,
    Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Does the Foxtel have a slot in the back marked HDMI Out? If so, this is the best possible connection to the Bravia. However you would need to pick up the HDMI cable (like bestbuy) It is a video & sound all in one. Do the 6 cords end in RCA jacks, and are they color coded?

I would like to connect my DVD player and Foxtel to me tcl smart tv but have no idea how it do it. Can somebody please help me.

depends on the output from Foxtel
is it antenna rf coaxial on foxtel ?
is it hdmi output on foxtel box ?
is it an AV RCA cable output on foxtel box ?
what does dvd player use for its output ?
Suggest you google these connection interface types and work out what is the output types
if rca then use av input on tv
is hdmi then use hdmi input on tv
then use select input source on tv to switch to whatever you used.

We cannot get sound through the yamaha amplifier while watching a dvd? TV and Foxtel works but we only get sound from the tv when we are watching a dvd. we have a Sony Bravia TV and a Yamaha HTR6130...

You need to connect the unnamed DVD player's audio to the receiver according to the player's manual and then assign the digital input on the HTR (if applicable). THAT would be in the HTR's manual (page 6).

I'd run the DVD's best video straight to the TV. Nothing good comes from having unnecessary cabling or interconnects zig-zagging across the room.

you will have to check the terms of the warranty, you might have to bring it to where you bought it. Also, if its to expensive, for the age of the unit, you might end up with a new tv.

I have a brand new LG 50 plasma and a Bravia Sony surround sound system as well as a Cox Cable HD DVR box. I currently have it connected as such: HDMI from Bravia Sony System direct into TV HDMI from Cable...

you may have to set the input value on the bravia for optical on the input from the cable box. sometimes there is more than one way for a particular input to receive an audio signal, you may have rca(red and white), a black or orange rca type for digital, and then the optical. i would suspect you have to tell the bravia how the sound is inputed into the bravia. also , just a thought.... on the cable box there should be a volume control on the front of the box........ make sure the cable box volume is ALL the way up (it is the preamp volume).

Screen goes blank / black, sound still works

It sounds like your LCD Screen is no longer working. I would try contacting Sony and ask for a refund. I had the same T.V and the LCD Screen had gone out. A techniction came out and Condemned the screen and i had to pay $500 for a new T.V.

Sony Bravia with Phillps dvd player

The DVD player may have multiple output formats that can be displayed. Sounds like you have the composite output selected when you have the component output selected on the DVD player. Check the menu options on the DVD player and confirm they match the way you have the player connected
