If you're experiencing sound issues specifically with Spotify on your Toshiba laptop while other applications like Last.fm have no problems, there are a few potential solutions you can try:

Restart Spotify:
Close and restart the Spotify application. Sometimes, glitches or temporary issues can be resolved by restarting the application.

Check Volume Mixer:
Open the Volume Mixer on your laptop and make sure that Spotify is not muted or set to a low volume. Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select "Open Volume Mixer."

Update Spotify:
Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Spotify app. Check for updates in the app or download the latest version from the official Spotify website.

Clear Cache:
Clear the cache in the Spotify app. Go to Spotify settings and find the option to clear the cache. Restart the application after clearing the cache.

Check Sound Settings:
Open your laptop's sound settings and confirm that the correct playback device is selected. Make sure the volume is up and that there are no muted settings.

Reinstall Spotify:
Uninstall the Spotify app from your laptop, restart the laptop, and then reinstall the latest version of Spotify.

Check Audio Drivers:
Ensure that your laptop's audio drivers are up to date. You can check for driver updates in the Device Manager or on Toshiba's official support website.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:
Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter to identify and fix any sound-related issues. Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar, select "Troubleshoot sound problems," and follow the prompts.

Check Third-Party Software:
Sometimes, third-party audio-enhancing software can interfere with the sound. Temporarily disable or uninstall such software to see if it resolves the issue.

Contact Spotify Support:
If none of the above solutions work, reach out to Spotify support for assistance. They may be able to provide further guidance based on your specific situation.

Or you can try to download the spotify music to check if it is still mute or not.
Here is the guide on how to do that.

Lost sound in my dvd6 laptop

Did you look in the last place you put it? Just a joke. Anyway, Is it muted? Volume up? Have you done ANY updates or OS upgrades? In Device Manager is it enabled? Driver OK? Is the sound icon in the Tray Notification Area? What does it read? Do you have headphones pluged in? You didn't provide much to work with.

I have a Toshiba Tecra R10 laptop and the sound has been lost. I've checked volume levels and made sure it's not on mute and also rebooted but still no sound. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you see that volume bar then driver check is ok, just make sure all other system settings are ok , check is maybe some other program currently uses your speakers so you cant acces them, that is most probably the problem in your case.

Toshiba tecra m1 sound driver

Check to see if the sound drive installed properly from the device manager. Try uninstalling the driver and doing a hardware search. Then check the sound settings to make sure nothing is muted or turned down. Some driver need manual adjusting.

Toshiba A15-S127 no sound; XP Home

It seems logical when we see the things that you have tried. I like to advice you to try use volume dial (physical), Use Ctrl+ESC to mute-unmute main sound channel. 3rd party registry editors are really dangerous for non advanced users. it might cause some severe issues. Since you claim issue happened after installation of the said software, you may use "System Restore" by choosing earlier date that sound worked fine. If issue persists, please post for more assistance. Also you may consider Full System Recovery by using Toshiba Discs.

Good Luck

New laptop

I had this problem too. My built in mic wasnt working, but i went to the list of programs (Classic view of the start menu) and under the program folder TOSHIBA > Speech System it'll have a choice "Configure Microphone." After I went through that, it worked fine. Make sure you restart your webcam software though after you've done that if you had it open like me. Hope this works!
