Cannot get our new Tomtom GPS one 130 to show English in instruct

Hi.

You need to replace the SIM card located on a slot at the side of your GPS.

Before replacing the SIM try turning off the TomTom, removing and reinserting the SIM.

The card can be purchased at any TomTom authorized seller, or contacting TomTom online.

In the menu, you should find the settings for language.

Now, If you don't speak German, this can be a problem.

If you use your computer to translate, you can do it.

Go to http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ and select the languages as required (German to English). Enter the commands you see on the TomTom, and navigate that was until you see the language settings.

Go to Preferences -> Change language -> Select English.

You can reset your language by following this tutorial on TomTom's Website

Start up your TomTom and find the preferences icon. The lips icon has the option of changing the voice, and you can switch back to English from there.

TomTom Home must have corrupted the TomTom's operating system. That is what that symbol means. Contact TomTom support and tell them what model you have and they will walk you through getting the correct version installed.
