At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate , 1 screw on each side ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .
If the water line in door is frozen , GE has a heater kit , pt # WR49X10173 , for this particular problem . It comes , with installation instructions .

Why doesn't my refrigerator water dispenser work?

Just like in the ice maker, you will find a solenoid valve.
If you hear the valve click open and close when trying the water.
If you do not here the valve open and close, check the switch and valve.

Door dispenser not working

Is the ice maker working properly? There is a water filter in the refrigerator through which both the ice maker and water dispenser are supplied and over time it will slow down the flow and eventually block. Have you changed it recently? Often, ice cubes will get smaller as it blocks and the ice maker will also quit.
Also, have you checked the water supply line that goes to the ice maker and water dispenser? It should be a small diameter copper or plastic line that connects to the back of the refrigerator.

The water valve has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and one side is for the dispenser. If the dispenser side fails you have to change the complete dual water control valve. What is the model number of your GE Refrigerator? Sea Breeze

GE refrigerator GSL25JFTFBS water dispenser quit working, but ice dispenser still works?

We had a repair man today about exact model and problem. He said the hosed inside he freezer door was frozen. open freezer door and cover the opening with a blanket. Leave open long enough and the water will unthaw and start running again. He said the manufacturers do not pack the hoses in there , they use foam, it eventually gets old and can get shifted to far to the inside. It worked ! working fine now.

Water dispenser quit working after a few hours after replacing filter. Have water pressure up to filter but nothing making it to the dispenser. Could it be that the new filter had something in it and...

There are 3 types of the PSW26P. They are basically the same when it comes to changing water filters. I do not recommend placing air into the water system, I believe that is what at this point is the problem. After changing water filter there is a period of time that you need to push the dispense water switch to allow for the air that is trapped in filter to purge. One moment I will send links, Sea Breeze

My water dispenser is leaking. I've replaced the filter and checked the dispenser if it's stuck but it's not. What should I check or replace? Thanks

You models has a tubing coil as a water tank. Once you changed the filter air bubbles remained in the system. Slow leaks or drips from the water dispenser can be the result of air trapped in the water line and will usually occur just after replacing a water filter. When the filter is changed, a large amount of air enters the system and needs to be removed by running water from the dispenser until all the air pockets are gone. Another reason is the water valve itself may not be sealing when closed allowing water pressure from the supply like to work its way into the dispenser water line. This is a less likely reason, but you should be aware of this possibility when diagnosing your own problem. Thanks, Sea Breeze
