Broken mirror on a 50' bravia by sony

If the screen is damaged or destroyed in any sense of the word, cheaper to buy a new set as part cost alone will exceed cost of new set.

broken lcd panel? if its cracked dont bother this will cost a bundle and i wouldnt recommend a fix.

here in our country flyback cost php1,500/$30 up.

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

i have the same set and the screen is cracked on it, i checked and the screen is $1050.00 so i believe its not worth fixing

It can cost anywhere between £50 and $200 ($100 and £300) to get a 50 inch LCD TV fixed, if you have a Plasma TV, it'll be a bit more than that.

I would suggest to call sony and ask them for the price, if that is too expensive; measure the area where the mirror was mounted and instead of buying it from sony, go to a place where they sell mirrors and ask them to cut one for you. Just do not tell them the purpose of it because they may charge you more.
