Go to this page and scroll down to Sound. Download the Soundmax AD1986 driver for your OS and install it.

Note: Although the page I linked to is not your model it uses the same driver as yours...

put the bootable xp cd in your cd rom then turn it on. it will boot up automatically if the cd will be bootable and your boot sequence is correct.

you have to install the original windows in able to perform the computer well and to work the driver properly, sometimes if you install the pirated xp windows the driver wont work properly specially the wireless network.
you can find the driver thru the internet dell website.
