Proposed solution: uninstall Google Chrome Frame
I discovered the pb yesterday, trying to connect to Facebook on my XP SP3 Win32 desktop that runs fine, but on which I rarely connect to Facebook, so that I don't know for how long the problem has been here (days, weeks, but no more)
I struggled in various forums to find hints others than "use Chrome or Firefox" etc...
I finally found the solution hidden in:

After uninstalling Google Chrome Frame, I just had to quit IE and launch it again.

Dear Friend!

1st - remove the Internet Explorer 8.0 completely from your system.
2nd - download a fresh copy of Internet Explorer and install.

If you will facing same problem after installation, please use only Mozila firefox.

restart pc, run reginout cleaner and then restart pc and run IE

Enter: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/

and download either of the 2 files. Install the "English-US" version of Adobe Reader X.

restart pc, run reginout cleaner and then update windows,

restart ur pc, run reginout cleaner and then restart pc and then run IE it will work fine

uninstall and reinstall internet explorerby add remove programs

This is an error in the Javascript being offered your browser by the web server. They will have to fix their site. You can safely ignore it.

The web page you are viewing is not compatible with Internet explorer, but not Mozilla 4.0 which appears to be what you are browsing with. Try using IE, or you could get a Firefox Addon IE Plugin which basically temporarily browses like it is Internet Explorer.
