I need the drivers for a panasonic NV-GS90 cam corder. the operating system is vista. when the cam coder is plugged in windows wont recognise it or search for the driver

This camera is 30 years old and if it has not been used regularly, will have suffered irrepairable damage from leaking components internally.
Take it to an authorised Panasonic repair shop for evaluation.

Panasonic global website is not so useful about solving this problem. You may go to

and select model of your camcorder.

If you are using windows then windows movie maker can do the job for you. Click on the import from digital video camera option from the panel on the left hand side. If you are using windows XP you can find that option under file menu.

If you're using windows XP, the camera will be automatically identified.
Anyhow, try the following:
1. Check the cable for any possible defects.
2. Switch off the computer.
3. Connect the cable to both the camcorder and the firewire card.
4. Switch on the computer.
5. Switch on the camcorder.

If the cable and the firewire card are both okay then it is possible
that the camcorder firewire interface is damaged.

Generally when you connect the camera via USB Windows XP and Vista activate native drivers and the camera becomes visible under "My Computer" (XP) or "Computer" (Vista) as a removable drive. However, probably will not be visible by capture software. In that case you would need to use a DV interface cable otherwise known as firewire and have the camcorder in playback mode.

all you have to do is try to connect your cam corder in win xp operating system..if its work in that OS, im sure your cam corder is for win xp only not for a win vista os.. just try it..thanks..

Did you try going to the Panasonic website? Go to the camcorder page in the support area and then go to drivers! Good luck.
