Straighten a paperclip. On the face of most disk players there is a small hole. Push the paper clip into the hole, and the disk tray should release. Pull the tray out to it's full extension. Power being on or off is immaterial. Hope this help.

My device cant open the disc tray please advise me on what to do

Electronics Corporation sells inexpensive DVD players. The DVD players, however, often exhibit problems due to their manufacture and way that they work, which must be dealt with during the course of the player's life. Knowing what these problems are beforehand can aid in resolving difficulties when using the DVD player. In some cases, it can help eliminate the problem before it can become catastrophic

The disc door is not properly closed if the Disc player display shows an "Open" error message. Check that there are no gaps in the door and use the remote to open the disc door. If it will not open, unplug the Disc player and gently pull out the disc door and then push it in. Plug the Disc player back into the AC socket.

If the DVD has not been inserted properly into the disc tray, a "No Disc" error message will come up on the display. Eject the disc and lightly flick off dust using the edge of a lintless cloth. Inspect the disc for damage. Insert it carefully again into the disc tray and use the remote to close the disc door.

Because the Disk player is inexpensive, the power supply is not of the highest quality. Having a surge protector to plug into the Disc player will help to keep the power supply from being damaged over the course of its lifetime.

Have a nice day

Hi, My young daughter held the tray on my new cd5001 player as it was opening. The tray now opens and closes continually while the unit is turned on. It will not play discs and the words open & close...

while your daughter was "holding" the tray did you hear any "popping" type noise?
This is a typical sympton when the gears have skipped a few teeth!
Your best bet(IF your a "handy" person) would be to take the unit apart to get to the CD drive, and CAREFULLY push/pull on the tray to manually "open/close" it, and watch the tray in correlation to the "eye" mechanism, to see if it is aligning with the "hole" in the tray correctly!
Good luck!

When i put the dvd in it will not read and there is a hitting noise at regular intervals

Hello,

The reason your player is not playing the disc could be that the disc is not sitting properly or the lens is weak or the lens is dirty.

To fix it if it is dirty,

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the player,

If it does not work after that,

Try to fix the tray by,

Getting the appropriate screwdriver,
Open the cover of the dvd player,
Try to assess the disc tray to see if it is sitting properly,
Turn it on and test a disc on it to know where the fault is from,
If you do not detect any kind of irregularities,

Then it is most likely to be the lens of the player that is weak and needs replacement.

All you have to do is follow the process you used in assessing the disc tray, but you have to remove the disc tray and disconnect the lens and replace it with a new one.

Take care

My Akai dvd player shows "no disc" after loading a dvd. The tray sometimes makes a grinding noise when opening and closing as well.

Hello,

The reason the player is not reading the disc and showing no disc is either because the disc is not sitting properly on the lens from the disc tray, or the lens is weak or the lens is dirty.

To test if it is the disc tray, open the cover of the player with the appropriate screwdriver, place a disc directly on the tray and apply a little pressure on the tray, if it reads the disc, then it is the tray.

All you have to do is to adjust the disc tray and screw it tightly.

To test if the lens is weak, try several DVD disc on it,and test them also on another tested ok player, if it does not work on your player and works on other players, then the lens is weak.

to fix this, get the appropriate screwdriver, open the cover and unscrew the disc tray.

You will gain access to the lens, carefully disconnect the lens and replace it with a new lens. then it will be ok.

To test if it is just that the lens is dirty, clean the lens with a lens cleaner and test a DVD to see if it will work.

Take care.

Samsung dvd tray won't open....help! there is a disc in it and I can't get it to open...i got an error message that said "remove disc can't play"......but the tray won't open

On some disc players there will be a small hole in the face of the tray. This is a manual release. straighten out a paper clip and gently pusk it in the hole. The tray should come out enough so that you can pull it open by hand. Good Luck.
