Pluging into PC does not charge battery. Go to www.bestbatt.com to get a charger cable or go to Radioshack and look into their universal charger units. fairly affordable.

Your battery will be destroyed and may cause a fire hazard if you play with chargers. Use the proprietary charger from JVC.

H0w do i charge the battery

Depending on the camera model, you may have a charging jack on the back of the camera that the charging cable plugs into, or a standalone battery charger for the battery (battery is off the camera and attached to a seperate charger).

If you haven't use your Nikon Coolpix camera battery for a long time and now there is no power, when you first plug it to charger it maybe show none action. And charger longer it will be well. But if your battery Nikon camera battery are used well these days, and it won't be charge. It means you need a new Nikon battery charger

JVC Camcorder - used wrong power lead to charge battery

They sell external battery chargers for these for around 10 bucks at Amazon. Just pop the battery in the charger. Beware the battery itself can be worn down or dead. It also has protection circuits right inside the battery that can be blown (maybe a small fuse too). A new high capacity battery (3 times the recording time) is also at Amazon for around $25.

Battery Charge

Get another battery and try charging it. You should have a second, backup battery anyway. That should narrow it down between the charger and the battery as to which is defective. How old is the camera? It may be a better investment to put the money into a new camera. Also, look on EBay for a new charger if you find that it is the problem. There are many third-party manufacturers of chargers and batteries that work fine and cost much less.

Won't charge!!

Hey ppl, my camera has just doen the same, it wont charge although it works completely fine in all other cases. Ive had it just over a year. Has anyone tried using a new cable? Or is it defintely the camera thats the problem? Either was a simple solution is to buy a charger for the battery itself, one thats independant of the camera. Its not as convienient, as you need to remove the battery and place it in a stand to charge, but it does solve the problem :-D They cost about £10.
