The matag atlantis Washing machine has a slipping belt. When i looked at it the motor does not seem to be designed to be in a fixed spot. is thie right?
The motor is spring loaded to keep tention on the belt. The belt is designed to slip. When the washer is full of water the motor starts at 1725 RPM and the belt is a little loose. As the drum empties its water the belt gets tighter and the speed picks up to spin the water out of the cloths. If the cloths are not comming out as dry as they should, replace the belt. As the belt starts to wear it becomes shiny and doesn't grip the pully properly and slips too much.
I hope this helps.
