I have had the same problem. I haven't tried to get it fixed yet. I just googled the problem with the code that was displaying on the stove and saw this site listing the exact trouble. Maybe there needs to be a recall.

Thanks for any help that can be offered

thermal fuse, I went the service way. Not mechanical. Hay anyone going to trash their convetion oven. I would be willing to buy the door (liner) and or hinges from you. Please contact me at [email protected]. We can make sure we are talking about the same model. Thanks

I have a KitchenAid Model KEBS207DBT6 purchased in 1999 and used the self cleaning feature for the first time yesterday. The oven shut down 2/3 of the way through the cycle and everything is dead. Plus, the door is locked and we can't open it. Can anyone help us get the door open and get this problem fixed. I will never buy KitchenAid again.

Water got spilled on the control panel. The circuit breaker tripped. After we'd cleaned it up, we let it dry over night. The next morning I reset the breaker and it thought it set it self to clean the oven. Now it just doesn't work. :(

Same thing happened to me yesterday took all day to figure it out was the themal fuse on the back of the oven the part number for my kitchen aid is 8300802 if you want the doors to unlock and reset the display you can take the leads off the fuse touch them together and the door will unlock however it is best to change the part took me 5 minutes once i knew what to look for
you have to remove the back panel and you will see the part with the number on it cost me 50 dollars but better than the 8o bucks to have a sevice guy come and do it next time i self clean i will pull the stove away from the wall to help keep it from ver heating

I have all kitchen aide products. Besides the fuse box all products have its own fuse microwave is behind control panel, dishwasher is on door , just take cover off (its a wierd looking fuse, but its there). No where in directions does it tell you this, but you can get the fuse at appliance stores if they don't have they can order and you can do yourself, saves lots of money.

I had the same problem--despite having had my top of the line KitchenAid oven for many years, it is dead after using the self clean feature for the first time ever. I just got off the phone with KitchenAid customer service. They said they can't help me at all because of the age of my oven. Apparently, they DON'T CARE that there is a well documented flaw with the self cleaning burning up the thermal fuse. If your oven is under warranty, they will help you; if not, you are on your own. This really stinks. I was about to buy a new dishwasher and refridge, but you better believe I will look for another brand.

Kitchen aid double convection oven - glass needs cleaning!

Had to remove the screws on the BOTTOM of the outside door, then panel came off after all the screws (inside oven door included) were off...
Reversed the order to put back on.. Cleaned (all) three glass pieces nicely... Now after reading the problems with the self cleaning part (doors getting stuck!) - I'm afraid to try mine!

Looking for a part KitchenAid DBL Convetion oven (12 years old)

Are you talking about the oven pan at the bottom of the oven? If so, the part number may be 1059318 and costs about $50. You can find parts for your range at repairclinic.com. Just type in your model number in the search window. There is an extensive pictorial part index with price infomration. Unfortunately, this part did not have a photo with it.
