We switched to windows 7 and I can't get spector to record

• With Windows Vista 64 bit or Windows 7 64 bit, you need to install Instant DVD recorder 2.6.1 as a full version.
• If you own an Instant DVD Recorder Version 1.x full version, to only install Instant DVD Recorder 2.6.1 full version.
• If you use this Instant DVD Recorder Updater to update the Instant DVD Recorder included with Studio Version 12, 11 or 10, please make sure that Instant DVD Recorder is already installed on you system. Hi, unfortunately windows 7 starter is a version with lowered capabilities as to be lighter on weaker computers. So, they Windows removed some functions from this version.
Windows 7 Starter does not include:

• Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the "Windows Basic" or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
• Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
• The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
• Multi-monitor support.
• DVD playback.
• Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
• Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
• Domain support for business customers.
• XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.

In order to try and change the background there have been some workarounds, but i do not recommend any of them for they are faulty...

There are basically no con's to upgrading. You will gain some features when you upgrade. You may have to install new device drivers for some devices like mouse, external hard drive to work properly, but this is unlikely.

Windows 7 Starter does not include:

Are you using Windows 7 Starter Edition? If yes, then you cannot change the wallpaper.
Windows 7 Starter has limitations:

I suggest that you upgrade your Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.
