The most common reason it wont run or start is because the door switch has failed or came loose, Then there is a belt sensor that turns off when the belt comes loose or breaks. If the fuse you are talking about opens, the issue will be no heat but it will run

This fuse is often mounted within the exhaust duct in the back panel. It is about an inch long, and is usually found within a white plastic housing. When fuses blow, it means they have no continuity and no power will flow through it. A bad thermal fuse needs to be replaced.

The air flow past the thermal fuse is too hot. The air flow cools the heater coil area. Check the air passages from the lint filter to the heator coil housing for lint balls blocking the flow and letting the area around the fuse get too hot.
