Lg 42pg6000 Macbook Pc-input
Connecting a macbook computer to this TV through a mini display port-VGA.
The laptop recognises the display port is active and changes to the correct resolution and starts dual monitor support. The Tv however does not register a signal.
i have tried system properties and detect display - nothing
tried re-plugging when laptop is open and closed and on and off. tried re-plugging at the TV end and nothing.
tried switching inputs on TV?????? Oh forgot to say now that the VGA IS is plugged into the TV the VGA option on my input list is now available so the TV knows something is there(even when other end isn't in the laptop)

Your monitor should have 2x HDMI and a VGA port and MacPro has Thunderbolt or a Mini Display Port. There is no direct way to connect your macbook to your current monitor. You'll need a Mini Display to VGA adapter. You can find this on ebay. Hope it helps.
I have a very strong suspicion that you are connecting your Macbook Pro to the VGA input on the monitor instead of the HDMI.
Your Macbook Pro uses the Mini Displayport connection type. Are you using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter? If not, purchase one and that will resolve your issue.
If you are already using a Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter, make sure your resolution is set to the maximum (1920x1080 according to Samsung's website) in Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays > Display.
If available, select the 'Best for Display' option which should automatically set the maximum resolution for the display. If not, select 'Scaled' and choose 1920x1080.
The easiest connection is converting to VGA and using a standard headphone port-to-audio in. Your video out from the laptop varies by model, which isn't included here.
Hi,
You will need to get an adapter that looks like this if it didn't already come with your Macbook.
It's called a displayport to VGA adapter. Most computer shops should have this item. Also remember to grab a VGA cable if you don't have the one that came with the monitor. Cheers.
The 13" White MacBook 2.0GHz has a mini-DVI out port. The adapter you need is
Apple Mini DVI to VGA Adapter
On the TV side, more information is needed. You need to specify what ports on the TV you are using for your signal, and what kind of adapter cable you are using. I suspect this is the component or connection where your problem lies.
Hello,
Your Macbook should automaticaly find the best resolution, if everything was OK. Is there any HDMI input on the dell projector? What projector is it? Is there is an HDMI input, you can use a HDMI to mini DVI cable: better picture and sound than VGA, and will probably solve your problem
Heres the dealyo.
Click start button
Click control panel
Click display
Click settings
adjust screen resolution (probably have to go down) until the tv displays your computer
if this did not work, you will have to adjust bit rate from 32 to 16. Fiddle with the settings until the magic happens.
You will not get any sound unless you use an audio jack plugged into t.v.
