2300MP has a white vertical bar to the right

Been using the projector for a while, but it has just started to display a thick, flickering vertical bar to the right of the screen.

resync did not help

I am so glad I did not see your response earlier :)

I opened up the box, blew into it, and everything is back to normal. I think it is either dust or a loose connection somewhere

Eureka! I had the flickering band on my projection as well. Removed the lightbulb, sprayed some compressed air through the box. Problem Solved! Love simple fixes.

Not a happy situation. sounds like video drivers are kaput, or the system files are corrupted. Other possible is the actual hardware is compromised.

ahh..the old dust bugs again? you may want to keep this in mind for future, when considering the area around the projector. Those units inhale anything nearby, with that cooling approach, especially from bottom of unit.

Any advice on what board I should replace if the left half of the screen is no good, just showing white and black vertical bars? Right half is fine. Is the panel kaput?

Dell 2300mp

Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:
  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.
  10. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Reset lamp hours and then press enter .

Dell 2300MP shows no connection after 15 min of work

that's a clear indication that you have a major heating issue inside the box..the internals are apparently overheating, as it will work after cooling down, right?

Sounds to me that you have a bad connection/wire to the CCFL bulb on that side of the display. Should be an easy fix, do it your selfer thing.

Vertical line on optoma projector

I have the same problem. Read another blog and they suggested that the tilt of the color wheel could be a problem. I have not had the opportunity to test it, but it may be right as the last time it was used it was okay until the "picture" was elevated (read: the machine was tipped up further). This would be an easy fix if this is the answer... just wanted to pass it on...
