Generator works by moving electrical conductors through a magnetic field. If your generator doesn't have magnets, it won't produce electricity. The magnetic field is created by taking some of the generator output voltage and converting it to DC and feeding it to a coil to make an electro magnet.
Nowadays, the generator degree of automation is high, the control circuit is also complex, thus, some faults may occur when the generator set is at work, which directly affect the normal power supply operation of the unit.

Could be several problems on the gen set itself. Check to see if there is a surge protection breaker or fuse, depending on age. Make sure all connecting wires are secure and switches are not set to 240v instead of 120v if you are trying to use outlets.

Glad to hear it was easy :-)
Here is a link to my trouble shoot solution so that this will get marked as solved.
SOURCE: My generator starts but not give 220 volts power
Check the voltage regulator and any fuses or breakers.
SOURCE: no output from my generator
Check the capacitor in the generator head. Will onpen or short cause loss of excitation voltage. Just checked my GENERAC ( no output) and sure enough the cap is shorted.

I have the same unit and same problem.
I have lost my owners manual. Did you figure out what needs to be done to correct the no output issue.
