I have tried repeatedly - using the VIN final 3 digits - finally the suggestion was to drive the car to the service centre. My question is this - for such a crappy radio why do Toyota bother- and cause me such bother?

Get the VIN from your car.
Call Toyota and they will give you the code for the radio.

4000 rds locked 10

The thing is, I do not know the actual procedure on how to enter the code. The unlock code for your radio is 0709. Guess if you played with it long enough to figure out how to enter the code, this code should work. You may want to check the owners manual for the procedure on how to enter the code. This happens most of the time from a battery being changed in a vehicle or going dead/flat. Hope this helps.....

The theft lock is on the radio and don't know how to turn it off the radio doesn't play now

the radio is locked.phone a gm dealer and ask them to unlock your radio.they will instruck you on how to get a 3 digit code out of the radio.then they have to phone it in and they will give you the 4 digit unlock code and tell you how to input it.then it will work again.the radio gets locked when the battery goes dead or gets disconnected.

I changed the battery in my 2003 Montana and now my dash guages are dead. There was no short involved--only a simple battery re-placement. The radio also went into "lock".

The radio will go to lock when the battery power is disabled. They have a theftlock system installed where you have set a lock code in the radio, every time the power is removed the lock code has to be reinstalled to work ( this simulates the scenario where someone may steal your radio, therefore it is useless to them without the code). If you forgot your code, you will have to contact the dealer and get the initial radio code to reset it. Procedure is usually hitting 2-3 preset together (displays 3 digit code) then the AM button (another 3 digits) they then call Delcotronics and get factory override code. Quite common problem when code is set but most people forget their code. The dash lights however are not related to the battery replacement, I would recheck that the interior light override switch in the roof console is not set to off.

Changed battery in 1995 Camry and radio is in lock mode

Dealer should give you code, if you explain it the way you just did.

My car radio is locked

I did this like 6 months ago on my 95 firebird. Dont pay $50 for the dealer to "crack the code"
This might not be the dealer code i used, so if it's dead, google for a working one. Heres how ya do it,
press the 2 & 3 numbers at the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will come up; press the am/fm button for about 10 seconds; another code will appear; dial 1-800-537-5140 and enter 106010 followed by the # sign; enter the 4 or 6 digit code from your radio followed by an *; the phone number will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code; enter this code into your radio just as your owners manual tells you to - use the hour and minute buttons to put in the unloc code.

Disclamer* just for legit owners who forgot their lock #'s

1995 Accord Radio reads CODe. Suggestions?

I had the same issue with mine. Call a dealer, they will ask for a number that's on the back or maybe the top of the stereo. They will also need proof that the car isn't stolen and is actually your's before they will give you the code to unlock it. Hope this helps.

Car Stereo unlock code for a 2000 Pontiac Monta

I dont believe there is a default code but if you hold down 2 and 4 for a few seconds.... 2 sets of 3 digits come up on the screen... 0XX and then 0XX (where X is your digits) Call your local GM dealer preferably one that deals with Pontiacs... and explain you removed the battery and your radio is locked... you forgot your security code but you have the 6 digits the deck gave you... they;ll put you on hold a for a few minutes then come back with your security code... which will always be the same so dont loose it.. hope that helps.
