Toughbook was working great. Turned on this morning, everything booted up fine, wireless connection linksys connected went to go into email and then it went to a dark screen and notified me that it had to shut down to protect from damage to the toughbook. I just shut it down until tonight. Now when I try to get to started it has this message for Realtek PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.12
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0f:Exiting PXE ROM
I have tried F8 and I still get this mesage, I just was wondering how to get somewhere even if I have to reinstall everthing. Any ideas? How do I get to the reinstall status? How else can I get into safe mode besides F8?
Thank you for your help....

I don't know what version of windows your running but try first going into the bios on your laptop and disabling your adapter. Then see if you can boot windows to try and find out if it is a hardware or software problem. If you can boot windows after disabling in bios you have some idea now what to look for. Instructions for how to enter bios should be in your manual for your Toughbook or posted on Panasonic's web site for your machine
