On the display panel under the start button is a signal indicator. If you push the button to the left of the indicator you should be able to reduce the volume and even turn it off. The button on the right of the signal indicator will bring the volume back up.

What is buzzer selector on Philips Series 90 tumble dryer

I think the buzzer selector is a reminder at the end or towards the end of the drying cycle to let you know your clothes are almost done. My friend has a dryer with that in it that allows you to turn it off or keep it on. May not be the same on all but that's what hers does. Hope this helps.

Can i turn the end of cycle signal off

You certainly can. I did this on mine.
Unscrew the control panel. Start a cycle and flip open the panel. When the cycle ends, follow the sound to the buzzer. Be sure to unplug the machine before you stick your hands in there.
The buzzer is most likely a small box standing alone. There will be 2 wires leading to it. Disconnect 1 of them and securely wrap it in electrical tape. You don't want to cause a short. That should do it. You can even reattach it later if you wish. Good luck

Timer and Shutoff

Go for the timer. The timer is nothing but a bunch of contacts and some minor electronics. When the timer reaches the end of it's cycle, it closes a set of contacts which sends power to the buzzer, which could be bad, therefore continued buzzing. If the timer continues on to the next cycle either the electronics or contacts are shot. This is also age dependant on the dryer how the timer is built. You might go into price shock depending on model. This is not ruling out that if you have a buzzer on off switch might be bad, but I doubt it. Hope this helps. If you are unsure and are good at reading schematics and a meter, then you can be sure.

Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.
