First access your firewall.
Then go to NAT then Block port 21 ftp tcp and udp for torrents.
You can also set open port only for needed services and othres are block.So nobody can use anything which not need for your networks.
Block ports 21 ftp for torrents then save settings and restart firewall.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

  • Torrents use ports from 6881 to 6999.
    So you need to block those all.

Hi there,

Well you can use the torrent software to not allowing more bandwidth, just open the torrent software (utorrent, bittorrent etc....) right click on the downloading file then goto the bandwidth allocation menu and select low bandwidth, just do this with all of the downloading things......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

HI,

· Please check the whether the security level for DMZ and outside interface, If DMZ is high security level. Please do the NAT configuration
· If it's having the same security level. Please issue the command "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface "in the global config mode.

I have cisco asa 5510 firewall and i have dialup internet connection i want my asa 5510 between my LAN and my dial up internet

Your best bet is to place the ASA into 'transparent' mode, and letting the traffic pass through it and be inspected on the way through.

To do this you need to first do the following command:
firewall transparent

Once in transparent mode, the firewall will no longer look like a hop in the packets journey, and you can set rules to allow/disallow traffic using access lists on the inside and outside interfaces, plus you can perform packet inspections using policy-map and inspects.

Hope that helps!

Block websites on cisco asa 5510.

All websites or specific ones?

If you want to block all web traffic, a straightforward rule preventing HTTP traffic (TCP port 80) as well as HTTPS (port 443) will block any and all web access.

If you just want to block specific sites, I'd recommend an access control list (ACL) configured to deny traffic to those specific site's IP addresses.

How to block some website on asa 5505?

do the name resolution for the website and write a policy to block the traffic from your trusted network to that website ip address. If required i shall write the policy and give it to you, for this i need the following details.

1. Name of the websites
2. Local network range (LAN ip address with SNM)

But this is very hard for you if there is more number of websites, For this you shall integrate a URL filtering software like WebSense, N2H2 etc with your firewall.

How can i block torrent download with asa 5505 firewall????????

It is not possible to block the BitTorrent protocol, as the client applications have the ability to use different port numbers.  I suggest one of the following courses of actions:
1)  Added deny entries to your outbound access-list that block the specific IP addresses of the torrent trackers.  For example: tracker.thepiratebay.org = 77.247.176.145
tv.tracker.thepiratebay.org = 77.247.176.154
tracker.mininova.org = 87.233.147.137

2)  Re-configure your outbound access-lists to allow only services required for business activities.  For example, allow only http, https, and ftp, instant messaging from all your network.  Allow only dns from your DNS servers.  Allow only smtp from your mail server.
