JVA 2440 rotates continuously in spa mode

I have a RS4 and when I push the spa mode button, the Jandy JVA 2440 (greaseless) actuator spins continuously. The other valves (pool and solar) rotate 180 degrees correctly bu the spa valve continues to rotate. I thout it was just a valve problem but when I flick the toggle switch on the valve to the on 2 position, the valve rotates 180 degrees as it should. Any ideas?

If you remove the handel and open thr top of the actuator you will see a set nut on the center of the shaft that you use to set where the valve stops. If this is tight then you may have a bad micro switch in the unit and you should replace the actuator. Good luck.

I cant move the jandy valve for pool return which means I can't turn filter on because if I do pool drains into spa.

Have you tried using the three way toggle switch on the JVA? It might be in the locked position.
If the JVA is not working you can always move the valve manually until you replace it.
First, put the directional toggle switch in the locked (center) position.
Second, loosen the retaining screw on top of the JVA handle about half way to three quarter out.
Third, push down on retaining screw firmly to disengage JVA.
Fourth, while pushing firmly on retaining screw rotate valve manually with handle to desired position.

Spa empties into pool when pool filter is on

That is because the return line to the spa and pool are on. This is expected behavior. This is to keep water circulating.

JMy JVA 2440 continuously rotates when in spa mode as well. I have not disassembled it yet to see if the set nut is tight. Outside of the of the bad micro switch, any other ideas on what to check? I had...

Jay,
I had the same problem. The issue is the microswitch "stop" in the valve actuator ( the motor assembly that turns the valve). Open up the actuator case and switch the valve to the direction it does work. You will see the microswitch that does work. Now, reverse the valve to position that it spins on and replace that microswitch. The microswitches are about $25. Good Luck

I have a Jandy Aqualink rs unit in the house attached to wires. My problem when I put my unit on auto, I have found it to switch to the spa program and empty the water out of my spa. What do I have to do...

Try this. On the suction valve their is a JVA... actuator and on the end of it their is a small toggle switch and all you have to do is change the position of this. Hope this helps.

I have a Jandy 2440, water level decreases in spa mode

Probally your return JVA is not turning all the way. If it was going down fast that would mean not turning at all and you would probally need a new JVA. Not getting all the way around means the cam has probally slipped. If you have a book (more of a pamphlet) on the JVA it can walk you through adjusting the valve. It is worth it it comes with pictures.
Pull the handle and remove the top of the JVA by removing the six small screws. Once it is open than you can loosten the set nut on the shaft and adjust the valve to the full spa position. The cam on the shaft will need to be set so that the valve goes off when it reaches this position then you will need to tighten the set screw again. Run the valve a few times to be sure it stops when it should. If you have it set then go ahead and put the top back on. I hope this helps, good luck.

Jandy aqualink rs4: pool has been winterized with the spa left on. when switched from service mode into auto mode system switches back from spa into pool mode (motorized valve switches back to pool mode)....

the only thing you can do since the jandy does not have a "winter" mode is switch the valves off. Once you have the valves in spa mode, there should be a toggle switch on the valve actuators. You can set the switches to the middle position and that will lock them in that position. You will probably have to re-winterize the pool lines.
