Samsung 650 lcd 40" tv picture blacks out for a few seconds.

My 3 week old samsung 650 lcd 40" tv has just statrted to occasionally black out for a few seconds then the hdmi 1 details appear in the top left corner and the picture reappears.(i'm in the uk and are watching through a sky tv satellite box).If i rewind the picture i can view the seconds i've lost without a problem.I've made sure the cable is connected ok,and was wondering if it's a tv problem or maybe the hd cable?

Dude, better check your cable and also your TV's power management settings. This might also happen due a issue with the HDMI output of the satellite box.

I had a problem with a Samsung 46 inch LCD and it had audio and dim light but no picture and found out that the logic board toward the top (inside tv) was bad and was no longer available and the only way to fix it was to get the entire display panel (the logic board came with it) It was not costwise to repair. Hope this helps.

Picture blacks out after a few seconds after turning on the tv
Anytime an LCD has a shade of pink, that means the CCFL lamps are about to go out. Now that you have a black screen, I'd say you just need some new bulbs.

TV Picture Goes Black
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
