How is the picture is it dimmer than usual? Also how many times does the lamp light blink in between each pause? A faulty lamp/live driver on this one would cause it to blink 5 times.. Try counting it and let me know.
3 times means Lamp and 6 means you have lost a voltage. You may have a thermal fuse blown. This set has a common trouble with overheating caused by the drum fan located on top of the lamp housing clogged up with dust. When the lamp is getting old it runs hotter and that combined with the fan being clogged the thermal fuse blows. You must replace the lamp and thermal fuse. You must also clean out or replace the lamp fan. This drum type fan should be cleaned out every year or two depending on the environment.
first of all you need to put back that cover that protects you from getting burn and also put back that panel i think it has a electricall sensor that prevents you fro getting shock thats why it wont start try that it w for me
I just brought my kf-42we610 sony authorized service-tv went black would not turn on-I was infromed Sony knows about problem with the fan in back -gets way to hot and basically melts everything-they are fixing free of charge until march of 09
Tried to turn it on? Sounds like you need to replace the lamp. However, I got an additional week out of my unit. Although poorly dimmed and the red Lamp light blinked constantly for that one week, at least it gave me enough warning to seek out a replacement. But so long as you're not mistaking the Power/Standby or Timer light for the Lamp light then I would have to agree with you.
