TV Cable card slot loses signal immediately after channel find

Hello, I have 2 nearly identical TVs. A Sony KDL-V32XBR1 and a Sony KDL-V26XBR1. I recently received 2 cable cards from my cable provider. The cable card works perfectly in the 26" TV, but not in the 32".
Here’s what happens when I insert the card into either TV. I insert the card, the TV recognizes it every time, and then I get notification that the TV will search for channels. It finds over 400 digital channels then the TV. With the 26" TV it tunes to channel 2 and I get all my channels no problem. With the 32" TV, it tunes to channel 1(one), which doesn't work. If I switch the TV to channel 2, I can view but after about 10 seconds, the picture will become pixilated going in and out, similarly to how a digital picture loses and gains signal during a storm, and then finally the screen goes black and it will say no signal, or no signal decoded or not authorized. This happens every time. No matter if I remove and re-insert the card or reset the card in the WEGA-gate menu.
I have verified that the issue in not signal loss due to the coaxial cable or the cable source by swapping out the 32" with the 26" and using the same card and cable/power cord set up. Both cards work in the 26" and both cards do the same thing in the 32". I am positive the problem is with the TV. The 32" TV is able to scan and receive channels without the cable card and I have never had a problem with it before until now. I have also never tried using a cable card until now even though I have owned the set for 3 years. Any and every helpful assistance will be appreciated. Thank you.

THis is not a solution but a similiar issue. I have had a scientific Atlantia Cable card with comcast for 3 years no problems at all. Spent the entire day trying to switch to Verizon today. The signal comes across for about 10 seconds, pixelates and then fails. This happen after every start. We have checked the lines, tried 2 cards and reduce the signal. We gave up for today- installed the old Scientic Atlantic, reassigned it to comcast and all works fine Any and ALL suggestions are most welcome Thanks

May be tv main board problem ..if you can switch  cable HD  box you can  save money

    Subject

No digital stations using a cable card

    Symptoms / Customer Description
No digital stations using a cable card, the tech is able to get digital stations with out the cable card. Cable co. has tried several cable cards, sees the stations in menu but no video or audio, without cable card it works. Picks up HD networks without card, but nothing with it.
    [Primary Symptom Code: 121X ]

    Solution

If the cable company is not sending the correct information to the card allowing it to know what channels the customer is permitted to receive then they will not be able to view those channels.

If the channel can be seen in the channel line up after Auto tuning with out the cable card, then the TV is capable of receiving those channels. If with the card only some channels are not received then more then likely it's a programming issue from the cable company.

Note M Cable Cards were not used when this set was designed. Therefore the M Card may not work. In this case the customer should use a cable box or the original S type card.

If you feel it is a TV issue then we need the answers to the questions below before we can get engineering involved.

    Need full description of issue.
What software version does TV have?
What is the diagnostic screen state on the channel or channels having the issue?
    Take picture of diagnostic screens.
What type of Cable Card being used? Scientific Atlanta or Motorola?
What cable company is the customer using?
Where are they located and how to contact their cable company engineering?
Does the cable tech know if other are having same issue with Sony or other brands?
Are they able to use different Cable card S instead of M card? If so same issue?

Try different cable, if you still get the problem after replacing cables, then you have a defective sygnal board (input board).

I just purchased a used Sony KDL-V26XBR1 that cannot tune the digital channels over our cable or any signal on the over the air input. Our Samsung, same vintage on the same cable can tune the digital...

Greetings - Your Sony has the standard tuners for a current HDTV, NTSC (analog), QAM (cable), and ATSC (digital/HD) broadcast..

There's something going on with the Sony TV. It's a pretty high end TV so it might have some additional features that require you to do something different (I doubt it) but make sure you've been through the manual.

If you didn't get one with the TV you can download a PDF version HERE.

Good Luck and Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Can not change the channels on my Sony Bravia KDL-46V3000. The remote will turn the TV on and off but will not change the channel.

Is this the original remote or a universal remote? Can you change the channel with the buttons on the right side of the TV?

Can you type in a channel number and go to that channel? (this applies if the channel will not change with the buttons on the TV.) Try to rescan the channels (it could be that the TV has the other channels hidden (or lost the list).

If it is a universal remote, you may not have the correct code (just a close one). Try additional codes for Sony TVs. Also when was the remote built? If it was programmed more than 6 months before the TV was released, then it will not have the correct codes. You would need a newer remote. A substitute remote can be obtained from https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do?sessionId=4q4-Cd8shqFs_c5rcVcD_Lw or http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=KDL-V32XBR1&uuid=12842263276080 .

I hope this helps.

I just got a Sony Bravia 40 inch lcd 1080p high def tv. I am able to pick up a dvd picture on it, but I am having trouble finding my cable channels. I do have a cable box, and it is hooked in there...

When I installed my dads Samsung 40 lcd 120 hz. I had to turn it all off and after 5 mins I turned on the cable and then 5 minutes later I turned o the tv.

Or have you tried "searching" the tv for cable channel's?

Sony Bravia does not see my digital channels

Hi buck lite,
Your cable company is telling the truth, you have digital cable. When auto scanned for digital channels the tv is lookig for OTR(over the air) signals. These are broadcast signals you will need an antenna to receive. Depending where you are and the type of antenna you use you probably could pick up some digital channels. Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. Lone99star
