Is the security light flashing? Did the light respond to your 3/10 attempts. Make sure the battery is fully charged then just try to start. Many times while changing the switch the door stays open add to that your attempts to start and the battery will have enough current to run the starter but nothing left for ignition and fuel injectors. Corrupt or wrong firmware will make the board seem bad to diagnostics. Do you have or can you get a copy of the old version firmware? If so I'd try to restore it. You also might try re-downloading the update (after triple-checking that you selected the right model.)

Beyond that there's a chance (albeit unlikely) that tech support might be of some value, specifically I'd ask if they've had many reports of problems with the latest firmware upgrade, and I'd insist they provide me with a copy of the old version -- even if it's not on their web site you know they still have it.

Since the update facility is still apparently operable all may not be lost, it all hinges on obtaining firmware that's valid for the hardware.

(Note that It's possible that a portion of the flash memory has failed and can't be rewritten, in which you are likely screwed.)

Disconnect the battery terminals and jumper the positive and negative leads together. This will completely drain the computer and it will have to reset itself as it comes up. Leave the jumper on the leads for an hour or so. When you reconnect the battery, your problem might fix itself.

P2138 is the an issue with the throttle position sensor. Age can cause intermittent failures. Probably the simplest fix is replace the sensor.

The transformer has an overtempature switch the shuts the welder down when its duty cycle is exceeded. After it cools, the switch will close and the welder will run again. However, you are not supposed to use the welder until waiting an additional cooling off period as specified in you manual(~10 min.).Also you are not suppose to weld beyond the duty cycle or damage could result. Especially if done on a continuous basis.

ok 1 of the only solutions i can think of is to update ur software try updating to the new version.
if u already did update and thats when it started "cutting out" then find a web site to 'downgrade' it
look on youtube for web sites that can downgrade your psp.

there is a little push button on the back. use a niddle and push that down at the same time hold the power button. you will hear the unit turning on itself and then it should work fine

switch of with on/off button
turn selector to a large 'off dot' position
wait a couple of mins then switch back on
wait 2 mins
then switch off again and turn selector to a cycle start position
wait 2 mins turn back on and let it run the FULL cycle do not mess it about.
Sometimes it takes 2 or3 attempts so be patient

If there is a fault it will appear again within the cycle and give you an error code eg E7/E1 etc note this and call a repair man he will track it from this code.
