CDMA phones do not have unlock codes whereby they can be unlocked to use on another network. Instead, they must be 'flashed' which means they must be re-programmed for a specific cellular provider.

To re-program a CDMA phone, you'll need the correct USB cable (to attach the phone to the PC) and you'll need the correct program for the cellular network you want to flash the phone to.

As you didn't include the name of the Indonesian cellular company, I'm unable to provide further information about the program you'll need. (To be honest, I'm not even sure there is a program available to flash the phone. Specifically, before you attempt to flash the phone, I'd make sure that the radio frequencies used by the carrier in Indonesia are the same as the ones used by Verizon in the US.)

The frequencies in the SCH-U960 are CDMA 800MHz (or 850MHz) and 1900MHz.

Keep in mind that even if you successfully flash the phone to the Indonesian network some of the functions still may not work, like the Internet, MMS or SMS due to the internal frequencies being different from the US to Indonesia.

And, once you flash the phone from Verizon to another network you cannot flash it back.

There are a few good downloadable cell phone flashing programs out there that will guide you through reprogramming your cell phone to use on many other carriers. If you have basic computer knowledge and a USB cable almost anyone can Flash or reprogram a cell phone. To begin search for a Flashing program on the internet if you don't already have one. I have used software from http://www.yourcellular.net/need_help.html in the past and recomend them. Using their software along with the videos and tutorials I was able to flash my phone in 20 minutes with no experience. Once downloaded unzip the file and search for the instruction or read me docs and follow them carefully. Look for instruction on your specific phone. See the video below. This will give you a good overview of what you will be doing. Your flashing program may not match the video exactly but you will get the idea. You should be able to complete the process in about ten to fifteen minutes once setup. You will be Flashing a CDMA phone to a CDMA carrier. See a description of the two major networks below.
What do I Need to Flash My Phone ?
1.)flashing software ( which you can download )
2.) A USB cable for the phone you're flashing
3.) A computer with Windows 2000 or Newer, a USB Port, 800Mhz+, 256MB RAM
4.) A CDMA cell phone( see below )
The Networks
In addition to the list above you will need an account with the CDMA carrier you wish to sign up with. There are two major networks for cell phone carriers. They are GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications. Examples are AT&T, T-Mobile The second CDMA or Code Division Multiple Access.Examples are Qwest, Metro, Sprint and Verizon. These are technologies which essentially allow a mobile device to communicate with a mobile communications network.

To accomplish the unlocking of your Samsung R210 Spex due to forgotten or unknown user lock code I used the following method. First, you will need a data cable. I bought this one from eBay...

Create a folder on your desktop. I named mine Samsung R210.

When you plug your phone into the PC it may be recognized and work. If not you may need the USB drivers also.

Unplug the phone.


Open the Samsung R210 folder and create another folder. I called mine USB driver. Download this driver to the USB driver folder...

In the zip file there's a folder called Samsung_USB_install


Unzip it into the USB driver folder also and click on setup.


Reconnect the phone.

Check the control panel under USB and ports COM and LPT. My phone appeared on COM 10 under ports COM and LPT.



Next, create two more folders inside the Samsung R210 folder. I called them PST and Cricket DLL. Download Samsung PST lite and DLL installer files from the following two links into their respective folders.

Unzip them both into their same folders.

Run the install for PST.

Run the install for the Cricket DLL.

There should now be a shortcut on your desktop named Samsung PST lite. Double click it and you should see the PST Lite window.

Double click SCH-R210 on the right.



This should show you the unlock code in the next window.





If you don't see the info click the read general information button at the bottom. Write down the user lock code or be sure to remember it. Close the windows. Disconnect the phone. Enter the lock code into the phone and you should be free!

PS, I got my R210 Spex off eBay for $0.01 because it couldn't be unlocked! I have a feeling those prices will go up now that this info is on the web.
