How do i change the time on my deck - Pioneer DEH-P4000UB CD Player

I have found that although they may look similar, with out changing brackets and adding new pulleys they will not interchange. Also decks from the same manufacturer will be different in different years.

The blades should only be engaged when the tractor is rolling for one, deck heighth has a lot to do with the blades turning did you just change the belt? if you did did you make sure the deck height is correctly situated, meaning according to the heighth of the deck when you changed the belt, you could also not have the belt around all the pulleys or the belt may beworn out

Why do you want to change the Pinch Roller? Most of the time they just need a good cleaning and other things in the deck like back tension checked. Pinch Rollers are only changed if they are cracked and I have seen few cracked Pinch Roller in 40 years.

You get the belt kit from Marrs Communications and then take the unit apart and put them in. After putting new belts into a mechanism the next test is to set the speed to the correct value using a wow and flutter meter or a frequency counter and speed alignment tape. This is why belts are usually installed by a Tape Deck Technician. I hear the complaint all the time that I changed belts and my deck does not work now- well that is why they are changed by a Technician, he will oil the bearings, lubricate the mechanism and install the belts in the right place without breaking anything. It is not always a 5 minute job. That is why they charge for this because it take a few years of doing them before you are good at it.
Like I have told others- dual cassette decks usually do not warrant the cost of a repair and most of them are considered throw away.
As to the direct answer to you question -there is no manual that gives you step by step instructions- at least in 40 plus years of working on decks- I have never seen one.

LUBE the deck belt+ roller bearing too. see the video and proceed according. If the problem persist after you lube , time to change the deck belt board complete.

Hello, Chose another powersource for your device. It is possible that you are tied into a circuit breaker that is constantly resettting. Maybe use an MP3 player for the trip and work on it when you get back.

Tou have a broken or loose deck belt. Not an easy DIY but medium and doable. Check the belt in the deck too (the one that makes both blades spin at the same time. This belt likely needs to be changed too.

most vcr decks are clones of other decks .find out what deck is fitted in that model ...might find that a easier way to trace a service manual. check R.S components parts ..i'm sure they have a section on vcr decks and a large parts and service sections with pictures to help you identify your deck. ps if you have never done this sort of thing before i would think hard on whats involved it can be very time consuming and awkward to do....deck timing can be a real pain to get right. i would start with the easy things to change first like the pinch roller.anyway hope this helps a bit ..farr64

First make sure you have the tools, metric that is. The deck must be removed and turned over. To do this you must put the deck in the lowest position. Using a 15mm socket pull the belt tension spring pulley forward to detach from clutch. Next remove retaining pins located at the five deck brackets. This will allow the arms to slide off and the deck can be dragged out from under the mower. Turn deck over. Use a 18 inch 2x4 to block blades while removing the two 15mm bolts. The bolt heads will need to be cleaned so the socket can seat on bolt head. I use my torque wrench to get more leverage and i can use it to reset blade bolts to 64 ft lbs. While blades are of it is a god time to thoroughly clean underside of deck.
