So I just got a ps3 and I purchased the hd component cables with the gold tipped plugs. My xbox 360 is hooked up to component 2 with their respected same quality cables and works fine. After assigning the component 1 to the ps3 with the same settings used for the 360, i still get no picture just a blue screen. Am I doing something wrong can anyone walk me thru this? PLEASE HELP!

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

OK, I don't have a 360, but are you sure the audio cable is connected, in the correct jack, and pushed all the way in? Sometimes it looks like the jacks are all the way in, but they are not. Thus, no audio. You could also try using Component 2 if that is an option on the TV. Maybe Component 1 ports are bad. Hope this helps.

Greetings,
In the input assignment menu make sure that the DTV (the only 1080 input on this tv) is set to Y/Pb/Pr and see if that fixes your issue with at least the HD-DVR.
BTW- the HDMI information "1080i HD can only be selected if TV has HDMI inputs". is not correct.

I go more with the lamp, if it was the video card, your picture would be completely green or blue, but since what you have is the lack of image it's most probable your lamp is the one defective. You should also be aware that the lamps is powered by other components, if fixing the lamp does not solve your problem, you might have a faulty ballast, which is the board in charge of sending all the energy to the lamp so it can light up. http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=mitsubishi+lamps/?Click=48427

It sounds similiar to a problem we've had with ours, all components would work in hdmi 1, but hdmi 2 would only work intermitently. They ended up replacing the digital board (fortunately we have the extended warrenty, I'm sure it's not cheap). Sorry hope this helps.

Omar...was the PS3 connected to another tv before you hooked up to this tv's component 1?
