Hi, the error code that you have is a known issue from Microsoft that needs a registry tweaks. Error code means "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (code 39)". You can click on this link for your reference http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

This will surely help you resolve your issue. Good Luck!!!

Thanks

I have an Acer Aspire 5332 and the CD-Rom/DVD Drive (Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S ATA Device) is not working properly...every time I put a disk of any kind (i.e CD/DVD/Game) it doesnt recognize it and load

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer
Close all open programs

Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter
Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

SYSTEM

CurrentControlSet

Control

Class

{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

Upper Filters

Lower Filters

Upper Filters.bak

Lower Filters.bak

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer

Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

hope this helps you

I can't use my dvd rw, when i go to perfical gestion i found this message : Optiarc DVD RW AD 5540A ATA Device (code 10), i know that the problem of driver but i don't know how i can to resolve this...

you can update drivers via windows updates. if you go through the control panel, select updates then choose custom, not the express as this won't allow you to choose the hardware updates, then look for the update for your drive. If there is no update for it or it has just been updated, you can go to my computer, right click on the drive and select properties, driver details and roll back the driver to a previous version.

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Laptop Levono y530, device dvd rw optiarc AD-7580s I tried to uninstall & reinstall it, but...

Give this a whirl:
CD-Rom stops working. After checking device manager you find an exclamation mark on the drive. It doesn't mean the drive is dead. It could be an upperfilter or lowerfilter registry issue that is keeping you from accessing the cd drive.

This fix worked for my client:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/XP_CD-DVD-Fix.zip

Also, try this fix from microsoft.

CD-ROM access is missing and messages cite error code 31, code 32, code 19, code 39, or code 41.

Try this before replacing the drive and remember that you may have to reinstall some burning software.

Try going to the device manager and uninstalling the dvd drive, reboot the laptop and windows will recognize the device and reload the frivers for it. It may even ask to go to windows update and search for a fresh driver, allow that and let windows finsh the installation. Reboot and try the device for function.

Windows Media Center cannot detect a video DVD in the DVD-ROM drive, even when I have inserted a DVD into the drive This is the driver installed in my computer: Optiarc DVD RW AD-5540A ATA Device

Unless you use a DVD player software like power dvd or others, you can not watch dvd on your media player. This is a copywrite and license related issue. DVD players are paid players and this is why, microsoft can not include it on windows.

If you are not willing to buy a player now, try vlc media player instad (click here to get ) . Its free ofcource.
